Our client is undertaking a Claims Transformation initiative focused on modernizing claims business processes and enabling them through improved technology, data, and operating models.

The Business Process Analyst (BPA) will play a critical role in analyzing current-state claims workflows, defining future-state processes, and partnering with business and technology teams to drive sustainable change. This role requires deep collaboration with Claims leadership, frontline adjusters, operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure process improvements are practical, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

In this role, you will:

Current-State & Future-State Process Analysis

  • Elicit, document, and analyze end-to-end claims processes across multiple lines of business (e.g., property, casualty, workers' compensation)
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, rework, and handoffs impacting cycle time, quality, and customer experience
  • Define future-state process models aligned to transformation goals, automation opportunities, and technology capabilities
  • Develop process documentation using standard artifacts (e.g., BPMN, swimlane diagrams, value stream maps)

Business & Technology Enablement

  • Translate business process needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology teams
  • Partner with IT, architects, and vendors to ensure process designs align with system functionality
  • Support initiatives including claims systems modernization, workflow tools, document management, data/analytics, and automation
  • Ensure business rules and operational impacts are fully defined prior to implementation

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with Claims leaders, SMEs, and frontline users
  • Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding
  • Support change management efforts by clearly communicating process changes and impacts

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Support development of transformation roadmaps, business cases, and prioritized improvement backlogs
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, and automation across claims operations
  • Define and monitor key process metrics (e.g., cycle time, touchless rate, leakage, customer satisfaction)
  • Assist with pilot testing, UAT support, and post-implementation evaluation

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Process Analyst, Business Analyst, or Process Improvement Consultant
  • Strong experience within insurance claims operations or property & casualty insurance
  • Proven ability to analyze and redesign complex, cross-functional business processes
  • Experience supporting business transformation or large-scale change initiatives
  • Strong facilitation, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and process artifacts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with claims system modernization or core system implementations
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience working in hybrid business/IT environments or agile delivery models
  • Exposure to automation, workflow management, or analytics in claims operations
  • Consulting experience within insurance or financial services
