Job Summary:

Bechtel's M&T Digital Solutions team is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support the design, development, deployment, and ongoing support of applications across active capital projects.

This role operates as a functional resource supporting multiple projects and works directly with project teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into practical digital solutions that improve workflow efficiency, data capture, and execution.

The position focuses on delivering scalable applications, including rapid prototypes and reusable solutions, while contributing to the development of standards and best practices across the Power Platform environment.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement applications using Power Apps and Power Automate to support project and construction workflows
  • Partner with project teams and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver scalable, practical solutions
  • Develop and deploy rapid prototypes and minimum viable solutions to address project needs
  • Support integration with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams) and enterprise data platforms, including Azure services and Databricks
  • Enable intelligent automation and AI-driven capabilities within the Power Platform environment
  • Promote innovation by identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation and better use of digital tools
  • Provide hands-on support for deployed applications, including troubleshooting, training, and user adoption
  • Maintain and support Power Platform environments, including applications, connections, and related services
  • Develop and maintain a centralized repository of Power Platform applications, components, and templates for reuse across multiple projects
  • Standardize application design, user experience, and data structures to support scalability and consistency
  • Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure applications are intuitive and efficient for use across project teams and leadership
  • Support packaging, documentation, and repeatable deployment of solutions across projects
  • Manage lifecycle of shared applications, including versioning, updates, and continuous improvement based on user feedback
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Practical problem solver who can build solutions quickly and iterate
  • Comfortable working in environments where requirements are not always fully defined
  • Strong communicator able to work directly with project teams and end users
  • Willingness to support and improve applications after deployment
  • Comfortable working in active project environments, including periodic time on construction sites
  • This position supports a hybrid work model, with a combination of remote work and time in the Bechtel Houston office location
  • Periodic travel to project sites is expected (approximately 10-25%) to support deployment, training, and field engagement
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate)
  • Experience integrating applications with enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365, Dataverse, and data platforms
  • Experience supporting deployed applications, including troubleshooting, user support, and issue resolution
  • Strong understanding of application design, data structures, and workflow automation
  • Ability to work directly with non-technical users and translate business requirements into working solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background supporting construction, engineering, or capital project environments (EPC preferred)
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks and their role in analytics and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Azure services, APIs, and system integration approaches
  • Understanding of application lifecycle management, including version control and deployment practices
  • Proficiency with core Power Platform-related languages such as Power Fx, JavaScript, and JSON
  • Exposure to AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Copilot) and interest in applying them to solution development
  • Ability to develop applications for mobile and tablet use in project environments
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications
