Professionals in these roles design, develop, and manage business solutions that automate processes, visualize data, and build applications without needing to be on-site. These positions are suited for those with experience in low-code/no-code platforms and require strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate virtually with teams and clients. Remote Power Platform roles are popular in industries seeking digital transformation and operational efficiency.

How does a Remote Power Platform professional typically collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams?

Remote Power Platform professionals often work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and related tools. Collaboration usually involves virtual meetings, demos, and feedback sessions using platforms like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. They also coordinate with development teams, IT, and end-users to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and integrate well with existing systems. Effective communication and documentation skills are essential for aligning project goals and resolving issues promptly in a remote setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Power Platform professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Power Platform professional, you need expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), a background in data analysis or software development, and often a relevant certification such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Dataverse, Azure services, and connectors, as well as experience with DAX, Power Query, and APIs, is typically required. Principal Enterprise Applications Engineer

Job description

The Principal Enterprise Application Engineer leads the technical delivery of XTG's ERP modernization strategy, consolidating four legacy ERP platforms into a single global Dynamics 365 environment while establishing a scalable data and integration foundation. This role bridges architecture and execution by validating solution designs, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring enterprise platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with long-term business objectives.
As a hands-on principal engineer, this position is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise solutions across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Power Platform, Azure, and integration technologies. The role combines deep technical expertise with senior-level leadership, setting development standards, mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction, and delivering high-quality solutions that support global business operations.
The Exponential Technology Group (XTG) is a specialist in the electronic component distribution and design engineering services industries. XTG is part of the TTI Family of Companies. This is a remote position with the ideal candidate located in the DFW market.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Own the technical delivery of the Dynamics 365 industry business processes. You will turn those processes into working, supportable F&O configuration and code and support their roll out globally across legal entities, regions, and go-live waves.
Own Power Platform programs end to end. Design and build across Dataverse, model-driven and canvas apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and custom connectors. Build reusable assets that compound shared component libraries, PCF controls, custom connectors, and solution patterns other developers and partners inherit rather than reinvent.
Work across F&O, Project Operations (Integrated with ERP deployment), and Sales-including where the seams between them leak: project actuals, integration journals, and revenue recognition. Also understand the licensing and entitlement consequences of design choices before they reach procurement, not after.
Design, build, and operate production AI agents using Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Dataverse-native AI capabilities.
Act as the senior technical partner to the Global Architecture team, validating solution designs, identifying implementation risks, mentoring XTG engineers toward expert-class capability in F&O and Power Platform and leading complex technical initiatives from design through production deployment.
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related technology discipline. Ten plus (10+) years of experience developing enterprise business applications, including at least five years of hands-on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, professional C#,.NET development experience, Dataverse plug-ins, and custom API development.
Deep expertise in X++ development, including the extension framework, Chain of Command, SysOperation framework, batch processing, data entities, security, and performance optimization.
Experience supporting large-scale Dynamics 365 implementations, including multi-legal-entity, multi-currency, and multi-country deployments or ERP consolidation initiatives, is strongly preferred.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Advanced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (X++) development, including extensions, Chain of Command, SysOperation, data entities, security, batch processing, and performance optimization.
  • Strong Power Platform expertise across Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, custom connectors, and application lifecycle management (ALM).
  • Experience translating business requirements into Microsoft Dynamics 365 business process models and industry-standard solutions.
  • Enterprise integration expertise utilizing REST APIs, OData, OAuth 2.0, Entra ID, webhooks, asynchronous messaging, and API management.
  • Strong data architecture and relational database design skills, including data modeling, normalization, indexing, and transaction management.
  • Experience with Azure services and development tools, including Azure DevOps or GitHub, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/Terraform), and Azure AI Foundry.
  • Knowledge of enterprise analytics and data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Link, and Power BI.
  • Experience with master data management, canonical data models, and cross-system data governance.
  • Experience deploying AI- or agent-based capabilities into production environments and utilizing Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and work management.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 industry solutions, including Advanced Warehouse Management, Project Operations, and Dual-write integrations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, multi-entity ERP implementations in manufacturing, wholesale distribution, or related industries.
  • Preferred Microsoft certifications: MB-500, PL-600, PL-400, AZ-204, and AI-102.

What we offer our team members:
