Job description

Role: Power Platform Engineer

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid: Onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
Duration: Long term

Rate: Market

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data & Application Management:
    • Design and manage data models, data flows, integrations, and permissions within Dataverse and related platforms.
    • Oversee app and flow deployments, environment configuration, and solution promotion through lifecycle stages.
    • Perform version control, backup, and environment capacity management.
  • Governance & Documentation:
    • Establish and maintain documentation and internal standards for app development, data security, auditing, and user support.
    • Monitor performance, conduct regular environment reviews, and enforce policy compliance.
  • Technical Support & Communication:
    • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements, resolve issues, and support platform adoption.
    • Provide user support, technical troubleshooting, and guidance on Power Platform components.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years administering Power Apps (Canvas and model-driven), environment setup, app sharing, and permissions.
  • 4+ years working with Dataverse (entity/field management, data modeling, roles, security).
  • 3+ years with Power Automate (flow security, triggers/actions, gateway management).
  • 3+ years with Azure Active Directory/Entra ID (user/group management, security controls).
  • 2+ years with Power BI (workspace/dataset/report deployment, refresh scheduling, Power BI security).
  • 2+ years implementing Power Platform governance (data loss prevention, environment strategy, auditing).
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • High customer service orientation.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Git and source control in Power Platform development.
  • PowerShell scripting for environment maintenance and task automation.
  • Power Pages setup, security, and integration with Dataverse.
