Typical Day in the Life

The Senior Microsoft Solution Architect serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, leading the design, positioning, and delivery of Microsoft-based business solutions across Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI technologies. This role bridges business strategy and technical architecture, helping organizations modernize operations, drive digital transformation, and maximize the value of their Microsoft investments.

Working closely with sales, delivery, Microsoft, and client stakeholders, the Solution Architect leads discovery workshops, develops solution strategies and roadmaps, supports pre-sales activities, and provides architectural oversight throughout engagement lifecycles. The role also contributes to practice growth through solution development, thought leadership, marketplace offerings, cross-practice collaboration, and mentorship of consulting teams.

Successful candidates combine deep Microsoft technology expertise with strong business acumen, executive communication skills, and the ability to translate complex business challenges into practical, scalable solutions. They are comfortable engaging with C-level executives, influencing strategic decisions, and architecting integrated solutions spanning cloud infrastructure, business applications, data, AI, automation, and security.

Client Advisory & Strategy

  • Lead executive-level discovery sessions, strategy workshops, and digital transformation discussions.
  • Translate business objectives into scalable Microsoft cloud, business application, data, and AI solutions.
  • Develop technology roadmaps, business cases, and solution recommendations aligned to client goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders throughout the customer lifecycle.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design end-to-end solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI technologies.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, integration strategies, security frameworks, and governance models.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex solution designs, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.
  • Establish and promote architectural best practices and standards across engagements.

Pre-Sales & Business Development

  • Support account teams with solution strategy, deal shaping, and technical sales activities.
  • Lead architecture discussions, solution demonstrations, workshops, and proposal development.
  • Contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs), project estimates, and delivery approaches.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft and internal stakeholders on co-sell opportunities, GTM initiatives, and strategic pursuits.

Delivery Oversight & Technical Leadership

  • Provide architectural guidance and oversight throughout implementation projects.
  • Support project teams in resolving complex technical and business challenges.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and ensure alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
  • Mentor consultants, engineers, and junior architects to build technical capability across the organization.

Practice Development & Innovation

  • Develop repeatable service offerings, accelerators, reference architectures, and best practices.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, industry solution development, and Microsoft marketplace offerings.

  • 8+ years of Microsoft consulting, architecture, or enterprise technology experience.
  • 5+ years of Azure architecture and cloud solution experience including 3+ years of Dynamics 365 ERP and/or CRM Microsoft platform solution integration.
  • Demonstrated experience leading client-facing solution architecture and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting both pre-sales and delivery activities within a professional services or consulting environment.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Benefits and Compensation

Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.  

Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 depending on experience/location/level. Position also includes generous commission structure.
