Patent Prosecution Paralegal
Texas - Flexible Location (Hybrid Dallas | Fully Remote in Austin or Houston)

LHH is partnering with a highly regarded law firm to identify a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join its growing intellectual property team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing environment known for strong retention, stability, and a supportive team culture.

  • Salary: Experienced IP Paralegal: High $80Ks+ (flexible for top candidates)
  • Strong paralegals transitioning into IP: $65,000 - $70,000
  • Remote Flexibility: Fully remote (Austin/Houston) or hybrid (Dallas)
  • No formal billable requirement
  • Bonus: Discretionary, performance-based year-end bonus
  • Flexible schedules (7:30-4:30 or 9:00-6:00)
  • Established remote workforce with strong communication and team connectivity
What You'll Do
  • Support attorneys and clients across the full patent prosecution lifecycle
  • Prepare, proofread, and finalize patent filings with the USPTO
  • Manage electronic filings and coordinate with third-party vendors (drawings, foreign filings, certified copies)
  • Track deadlines, maintain dockets, and partner closely with docketing teams
  • Prepare IDS submissions and assist with office action responses
  • Manage patent portfolios, including status tracking and reporting
  • Communicate directly with clients and stakeholders on case updates and next steps
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of patent prosecution experience preferred
  • OR strong paralegal experience in another practice area with demonstrated stability and interest in IP (training provided)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills (critical to success)
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal systems (PerfectLaw or similar a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence
