Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD-2 days onsite per week) OR Remote (as applicable to role) 


Work Authorization Requirements 


To comply with government contracting requirements, candidates must meet all of the following: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid EAD holder  
  • Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years  
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Job Overview 


Cogent People Inc. is seeking a DevOps Lead (Copado) to support detailed requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation for projects workflows, data structures, and user interactions. 


This role works with stakeholders and Agile teams to refine user stories, ensure alignment with CMS processes, and support testing and user acceptance. The position contributes to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in workflow execution, data quality, and user experience. 


The DevOps Lead leads DevSecOps implementation using Copado to enable automated, secure CI/CD pipelines and controlled release promotion across Salesforce environments. Ensures configuration management, test automation gating, and deployment traceability aligned with CMS security and compliance requirements. Integrates continuous validation, monitoring, and release governance into all delivery activities. 


This role is responsible for [high-level responsibilities: strategy, execution, delivery, leadership, etc.], ensuring alignment with business goals, user needs, and technical requirements. 


This position may be contingent upon contract award. 

Requirements

What You'll Do 

  • Support detailed requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation for MESH workflows, data structures, and user interactions  
  • Work with stakeholders and Agile teams to refine user stories  
  • Ensure alignment with CMS processes  
  • Support testing and user acceptance  
  • Lead DevSecOps implementation using Copado to enable automated, secure CI/CD pipelines and controlled release promotion across Salesforce environments  
  • Ensure configuration management, test automation gating, and deployment traceability aligned with CMS security and compliance requirements  
  • Integrate continuous validation, monitoring, and release governance into all delivery activities  
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in workflow execution, data quality, and user experience 

What We're Looking For 

  • Bachelor's degree in [relevant field] or equivalent experience  
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Salesforce delivery, or related technical leadership roles  
  • Demonstrated experience leading DevSecOps implementations using Copado  
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and DevSecOps practices  
  • Experience working in CMS, federal, healthcare, regulated, or enterprise environments (if applicable)  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities  
  • Ability to manage priorities and work in a fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
