Palmer Johnson is seeking an experienced OEM Regional Sales Manager to develop and grow engine and power solution business across the Midwest region.
Who We Are
Palmer Johnson is a leading provider of powertrain and engine solutions serving the off-highway market, including OEMs and end users. We specialize in the distribution, service, and remanufacturing of heavy-duty drivetrain components and industrial engines.
As an authorized distributor for brands such as Deutz, Hatz, Isuzu, JCB and Scania, we help customers maximize uptime through reliable products, technical expertise, and responsive support. With more than 45 years of experience, we believe our people are our greatest asset and are committed to creating an environment that supports growth and success.
About the Role
As the OEM Regional Sales Manager, you will focus on identifying and building OEM and OEM-adjacent opportunities by leveraging existing relationships, aftermarket activity, and installed base within your territory. You will manage opportunities from early engagement through production while expanding key customer relationships. This role is not limited to maintaining existing business - success will be measured by the ability to develop new opportunities and convert them into repeatable programs across off-highway industrial applications.
This is a remote role, but the candidate must be located in the Midwest to best be able to serve customers in their territory.
What You'll Do
  • Identify, target, and develop new OEM opportunities across the region
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from early engagement through production launch
  • Own and expand existing opportunities into larger, long-term programs
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive growth and retention
  • Engage with engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders to build strong partnerships
  • Align customer application needs with appropriate engine and power solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to bring programs to market
  • Ensure successful transition of opportunities into scalable, repeatable production programs
  • Provide market insights on competitive activity, customer needs, and application trends to inform strategy

What You Bring
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to engage in application-based discussions
  • 5+ years of proven experience selling to OEM customers in a complex, technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build pipeline and develop new business from scratch
  • Experience managing long sales cycles (12-36 months)
  • Experience in engines, powertrain, or industrial equipment
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 30-50%), including customer visits, trade shows, and on-site meetings
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Why You'll Love Working Here
  • Flexible remote schedule - work from home and onsite
  • Award-winning culture - fun, un-corporate, and full of support
  • Competitive base compensation & commission, plus monthly car allowance
  • Robust benefits package:
    • 401(k) with company match
    • Health, dental, vision insurance
    • Life and disability coverage
    • Paid time off + 8 paid holidays
    • Wellness initiatives and more!
