NOC Engineer โ€“ Tier IIIย 

Department:ย Networks Operationsย 

POSITION SUMMARYย 

The NOC Engineer โ€“ Tier III is a senior technical role within the Vero Network Operations Center (NOC), responsible for ensuring network reliability, performance, and uptime across our national fiber and IP transport infrastructure. This position provides advanced NOC monitoring, troubleshooting, andย escalationย leadership, supporting internal teams and interfacing directly with engineering, field operations, and vendors. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver and technical mentor with deep experience in fiber transport, IP core networks, and NOC operations. We are currently hiring for 1 open position.

ย 
RESPONSIBILITIESย 

  • Monitor and manage multi-vendor network environments, ensuring high availability of fiber and IP transport services.ย 
  • Lead triage and advanced troubleshooting of complex network events,ย identifyingย rootย causesย and driving quick resolution.ย 
  • Coordinate escalations with internal engineering, field operations, and external vendors.ย 
  • Manage network fault isolation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, and optical systems.ย 
  • Conduct proactive network performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.ย 
  • Provide Tier III technical support to internal teams: mentor Tier I/II NOC personnel.ย 
  • Oversee change management, upgrades, and maintenance windows to minimize service impact.ย 
  • Maintainย detailed documentation, runbooks, and process improvements for network operations.ย 
  • Ensureย SLA adherence, service availability, and MTTR targets are consistently achieved.ย

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSย 

  • 8โ€“10+ years in network operations, engineering, or telecommunications, with proven experience in NOC or ISP environments.ย 
  • Deepย expertiseย in IP networking (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, QoS) and fiber transport systems (DWDM, CWDM, Ethernet).ย 
  • Hands-on experience with:ย 
  • Juniper (Junos), Cisco, andย MikroTikย platforms.ย 
  • Calix XGS-PON and access/aggregation network management systems.ย 
  • Fixed wirelessย and LTE platforms such as Cambium,ย Telrad, or similar.ย 
  • Advanced diagnostic, analytical, and scripting abilities (Python, shell, or equivalentย a plus).ย 
  • Strong understanding of network monitoring, alerting, and telemetry tools.ย 
  • Proven ability to lead technicalย responseย during major incidents and guide NOC teams through resolution.ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent experience preferred.ย
