Job description

The Assistant Merchant (Bridal) supports the Merchant in the execution of product and assortment strategies across assigned jewelry categories. This role collaborates closely with merchant assortment coordination, store communication, and in-season management. The Assistant Merchant partners closely the Merchant and cross-functional teams to help ensure products are launched effectively and aligned with company branding and goals.


New Product Design Intent 

  • Supports the selection of styles in accordance with the Corporate Merchandise Strategy.
  • Research and identify emerging trends.
  • Assist in the development of exclusive designs that reflect the Shane model.
  • Partnering with merchants on pricing strategy and architecture.
  • Along with the Merchant, responsible for Sales Growth/Trend assumptions and assortment extension opportunities.
  • Execute Loose Stone Assortment Strategy

Assortment Planning

  • Build and maintain concept sheets to support design intent, product vision, and assortment storytelling
  • Track and update line plans and product documentation across internal systems
  • Help monitor in-season sales and provide recaps or opportunities to the Merchant
  • Assists merchant in item maintenance such as discontinuations, basic style refreshes, and category-level SKU clean-up

Vendor Relations 

  • Work with vendors on design, product, style selection.
  • Occasionally attending select jewelry shows to view the latest styles and build vendor rapport.

Store Relations 

  • Build trend information and share with training teams, store/vault and marketing
  • Occasionally travel to select retail locations periodically to review the specific trends for each market.
  • Monitor and track store feedback, ensuring timely response to questions or concerns so teams feel heard and supported. Organize insights to help guide merchants’ decision making.
  • Along with the merchant partner with marketing to establish product and display standards.

  • 1+ years of previous fashion buying experience in retail.
  • Demonstrated market fashion trend knowledge.
  • Successful relationships with external vendors and internal teams (planning, marketing, stores)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Merchandising, or related field or equivalent experience.

The primary environment for this role is a combination of an open office and a remote workplace. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role is expected to be on-site in Home Office 1-2 days per week on an ongoing basis. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events up to 10% of the time.

Base Pay range for this role is $80,000 - $112,000 annually. Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members and alignment with geographic market data. Home office base pay ranges are based on the Denver market.  We target most new hire offers toward the lower end of the listed range, but more demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills may result in a higher starting rate.
Beyond Base Pay: Home office positions are eligible for consideration for an annual bonus, based on total company performance.  Amounts vary by role and are based on a percentage of eligible earnings for the fiscal year.
