Location: Remote with some periodic travel to BidFTA offices, facilities, and operating locations as needed for strategic planning, inventory reviews, cross-functional collaboration, and business initiatives.
Compensation: $90,000-$100,000
Position Overview
BidFTA is seeking a Director of Omnichannel Merchandising & Inventory Strategy to own the strategy, presentation, allocation, and monetization of inventory across all customer-facing sales channels. This role sits at the intersection of merchandising, inventory planning, marketing, ecommerce, operations, and customer experience. The ideal candidate will ensure inventory is positioned effectively across online auctions, bin stores, fixed-price offerings, and future sales channels. This individual will partner closely with leadership, marketing, operations, and external agencies to maximize inventory recovery, sales velocity, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
This position plays a critical role in determining how inventory is monetized across BidFTA's ecosystem. The Director will help shape the company's commercial strategy by ensuring the right inventory reaches the right channel at the right time, maximizing recovery, customer engagement, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own omnichannel merchandising strategy across auctions, bin stores, fixed-price channels, and emerging sales channels.
  • Determine the optimal channel allocation strategy for incoming inventory and liquidation programs.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for major inventory opportunities.
  • Own digital merchandising standards, assortment visibility, and category presentation.
  • Optimize auction listings, product listings, category structures, and searchability.
  • Manage inventory planning and merchandising execution on Shopify.
  • Merchandise homepages, category pages, item pages, and other key customer touchpoints.
  • Establish and maintain listing standards and merchandising guidelines.
  • Drive conversion rate optimization initiatives across digital properties
  • Partner with marketing to ensure inventory is showcased effectively across paid media, email, social, and onsite experiences.
  • Support product catalog creation and maintenance across advertising platforms.
  • Work with development partners to improve URL structures, SEO, inventory hierarchy, and discoverability.
  • Maintain accurate inventory information and merchandising updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Inform marketing and leadership teams of major incoming inventory opportunities.
  • Monitor inventory performance and recommend reallocation strategies to maximize recovery and velocity.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to improve inventory lifecycle performance.

Inventory Lifecycle Ownership
  • Develop merchandising and monetization plans from acquisition through liquidation.
  • Create frameworks that determine whether inventory should be sold via auction, fixed-price, bin store, marketplace, or future channels.
  • Continuously evaluate inventory performance and adjust channel strategy accordingly.
  • Maximize inventory recovery, sell-through rates, and revenue generation.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of merchandising, ecommerce, retail, marketplace, or inventory strategy experience.
  • Experience managing product catalogs, category structures, assortment planning, and digital merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of conversion optimization and customer experience best practices.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, inventory, and development teams.
  • Shopify experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience in liquidation, closeout, off-price retail, auction, or marketplace environments is a plus.
