Job description

Alkami is the digital sales and service platform provider for U.S. banks and credit unions. Our unified Platform integrates onboarding, digital banking, and data and marketing-each solution can stand alone, but together they deliver more-to help institutions onboard, engage, and grow relationships. As the future shifts toward Anticipatory Banking, we help data-informed bankers meet the moment with technology that drives action.
Founded in 2009, we continue to be recognized for our intentional culture and tremendous growth (Best Place to Work in Fintech; Best & Brightest to Work For Nationally; and Comparably's Best Company Culture, Best Career Growth, Best Engineering Team, and Best Places to Work in Dallas, among others). If you're ready to experience the power of alchemy - transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary - come join one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the U.S.
As a remote-first company, most of our positions can be remote in the US, except for key roles, which will be indicated in the Job Title.

As a Platform Solution Engineer, you will own the technical configuration and backend build of customer environments during implementation. You will translate business requirements into scalable system configurations aligned with best practices.
You will partner closely with an Implementation Manager (IM), who leads the client-facing strategy and delivery, and an Activation Engineer (ACTI), who owns core integration engineering and technical connectivity. While the IM drives project execution and stakeholder alignment, and the ACTI manages integration development, you will focus on building and validating the system configurations that bring the implementation to life.
You will:
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system configurations aligned with best practices
  • Configure and deploy backend settings for financial institutions using tools such as JSON and Postman
  • Design sustainable solutions that balance customer requests with platform guidelines and long-term stability
  • Partner closely with Implementation Managers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and accurately executed
  • Collaborate with Activation Engineers to ensure configurations align with core integration requirements and constraints
  • Provide client-facing support when deep functional or technical expertise is required
  • Configure and validate third-party integrations during implementation
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to submit detailed enhancement requests and well-documented bug reports
  • Test and validate new product functionality pre-GA to ensure quality and implementation readiness
  • Maintain clear documentation of configuration decisions, constraints, and customer-specific setups
  • Manage multiple concurrent implementations while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality

What Success Looks Like
In the first 6-12 months, a successful Platform Solution Engineer will:
  • Independently configure customer environments with minimal oversight
  • Build increasing functional expertise across deposit account opening workflows and core variations
  • Deliver clean, well-documented configurations that minimize rework and post-launch issues
  • Identify potential configuration risks early and partner with IMs and ACTIs to mitigate them
  • Demonstrate strong judgment in balancing customer requests with best practices
  • Contribute thoughtful feedback to Product and Engineering that improves implementation scalability
  • Develop a reputation internally as a reliable and detail-oriented technical partner

About You
  • You are detail-oriented and enjoy building structured, well-designed system configurations
  • You think systemically and understand how configuration decisions impact downstream workflows
  • You take pride in doing things correctly and sustainably - not just quickly
  • You are comfortable working behind the scenes while collaborating closely with client-facing and technical teammates
  • You communicate clearly in writing, especially when documenting technical decisions
  • You are organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • You are curious about how systems work and motivated to deepen your understanding of functional nuances across different banking cores over time

We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in technical implementation, solution engineering, or backend system configuration within enterprise SaaS
  • Proficiency working with APIs and backend configuration tools (JSON, REST APIs, Postman)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical system configurations
  • Strong written documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and technical delivery teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience configuring or integrating with core banking systems or other regulated financial systems
  • Knowledge of the bank or credit union deposit account opening and loans origination processes
  • Experience testing new features or participating in pre-GA validation
  • Familiarity with JIRA or similar ticketing systems
  • Background in fintech or regulated financial services
The salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $120,000
