Position Overview

The Self Care Learning Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position allows you to leverage your therapeutic skills in a supportive outpatient environment, delivering critical mental health services to individuals, couples, and families. You will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, helping clients navigate their challenges to achieve better mental health and overall wellness.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being part of a dedicated outpatient team. Our therapists engage in a collaborative virtual workspace, utilizing various technologies to engage with clients effectively. You will have access to resources and support systems that facilitate excellent therapeutic care, including regular team meetings, peer supervision, and access to an extensive library of therapeutic materials and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a positive, trusting rapport with clients to foster open communication.
  • Diagnose mental health disorders utilizing best practices and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to clients’ specific needs.
  • Conduct therapy sessions with clients and groups, utilizing evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy.
  • Adhere to treatment protocols and adjust care plans based on ongoing assessments of client progress, symptoms, and feedback.
  • Provide education and guidance to clients, families, and team members regarding mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources.
  • Refer clients to adjunctive services and specialists as appropriate to enhance their treatment journey.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse range of clients facing various challenges, including mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma-related conditions. Our focus on inclusion means you will work with individuals from various backgrounds and age groups, providing you with a rich and rewarding therapeutic experience.

Qualifications
  • Currently holds an active state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience providing individual and group therapy in clinical settings is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage client caseloads and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly CBT, EMDR, or solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and virtual counseling techniques is an advantage.
  • Previous work providing therapy in outpatient settings is highly desirable.
