Teacher of the Hearing Impaired

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hearing and Impaired Teacher to provide high-quality telehealth instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. The ideal candidate will leverage technology to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students across different grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with hearing impairments.

  • Deliver virtual instruction using accessible teaching strategies and assistive technologies.

  • Utilize video conferencing tools, captioning services, and other resources to enhance remote learning experiences.

  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support students’ educational growth and social development.

  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations and adapt instructional methods as needed.

  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in telehealth education for students with hearing impairments.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local education guidelines and special education laws.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education in Washington.

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.
