Job Description

The Field Service Engineer provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. TheFieldEngineer will instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system and serve as company liaison withcustomeron administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. This role may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking.

Location:Remote Field role servicing customerslocatedin western New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware (overnights will be required)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs while ensuring compliance with PerkinElmer's service standards and key performance indicators.

  • Engage withcustomers to understand their analytical workflows and tailor service offerings, including training,support, and upgrades.

  • Enhance account profitability through efficient service execution and byidentifyingrevenue opportunities such as billable work, consumables,and service leads.

  • Maintain assigned assets, including tools, test equipment (MTE), telecommunication equipment, and service parts inventory.

  • Enhance PerkinElmer's product quality by proactively reporting improvement opportunities via the quality notification process.

  • Attendhigher level certification through participation in company sponsored training & development offerings

  • Complete all administrative tasks, including but not limited to time reporting and assigned training.

  • Maintain training and compliance inareasof health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment

Basic Qualification:

  • BABachelor Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus3years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment OR
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus5years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment OR

  • High School Diploma plus 7+ years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of analytical equipment, laboratory environment, and/or instrument control software

  • Vendor issued certification on relevant laboratory equipment

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices as defined by the Company and/or the customer's site safety code

  • Abilityto travel by air,vehicleand/or other means of transportation as business requires. Travel will vary depending on territory requirements and/or customer base typically up to 50% of the time. (Car, laptop, and phoneare companyprovided).

  • Valid driver's license and safe motor vehicle operation.

Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlledenvironmentsrequiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) inlaboratory.

  • Job pace may befastand job completion demands may be high.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of thetime.

  • The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsiteFrequentlyoperateon instruments, objects,toolsor controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting,stretchingand reachingin order toperform in a service function.

  • Occasionally move orlift upto 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability toobservedetails at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusin order toperform the essential service functions of this position.

  • Occasionallyoperatesa computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Employeemaybe requiredto handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations.Duties may includeidentifying, handling, generating, accumulating,storingand labeling hazardous waste.

  • Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.

  • May berequiredto complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment.

The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $65,000.00to $85,000.00. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will bedeterminedby factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
