What is a Remote ITSM Analyst?

A Remote ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) Analyst is a professional who manages and improves IT services for an organization while working from a remote location. Their responsibilities include monitoring IT service processes, handling incident and request management, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements, and analyzing service performance data. They use ITSM tools to streamline workflows, resolve technical issues, and support overall IT service delivery. By working remotely, they leverage digital communication and collaboration platforms to interact with team members and stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote ITSM Analyst?

To thrive as a Remote ITSM Analyst, you need a solid understanding of IT service management principles, incident and problem management, and typically a degree in information technology or a related field. Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management, as well as ITIL certification, is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills are crucial for collaborating remotely and resolving technical issues efficiently. These skills ensure seamless IT operations, high user satisfaction, and effective service delivery in distributed work environments.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote ITSM Analysts, and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote ITSM Analysts often encounter challenges such as coordinating across time zones, maintaining clear communication with distributed teams, and ensuring prompt incident resolution without being physically present. To manage these effectively, it's important to leverage collaboration tools, establish clear protocols for ticket escalation, and maintain proactive communication with both technical teams and end users. Building strong relationships with colleagues and consistently documenting processes can also help overcome the challenges of remote work and ensure seamless IT service management.

Why should you consider joining Auvik?
  • You want to work at a company that is building impactful, relevant technology. Auvik's network management software helps IT teams by automating time-consuming tasks, streamlining operations, and mitigating risk. It's more important than ever to be able to remotely monitor and manage network infrastructure, and with Auvik, IT professionals have that essential visibility and control.
  • You want to work with a leadership team who are transparent and trustworthy. Our senior leaders have a vision for Auvik. They are experienced, knowledgeable, approachable, and consistently working hard to drive success, both for the company and the team of people who make it happen.
  • You want to work with a product customers love. People rave about what we've built. Our customers are smart, aspirational, and highly technical. It pays to get the details right.
  • You want regular opportunities for learning and growth. With ongoing feedback from leadership, you'll find that Auvik encourages you to be your very best. Our onboarding process is thorough and informative because we want to make sure you're prepared to have a great work experience. We also have programs designed to help you take the next steps you want for your career.
  • You want the flexibility to manage your work, your way. We're a fully distributed team and we're prepared to continue to support working from home (or the space you choose!). When we're able, we'll have Auvik hubs in Waterloo and Barcelona for you to leverage if needed. We trust you to get the job done where you feel most comfortable and effective.

What's this role all about?

As an Account Executive, you will be the primary point of contact for new Auvik prospects.  Using your energy, smarts, selling skills and personal brand, you will focus on closing net new sales opportunities.

What will I be doing?

You'll be part of a rapidly growing sales team and based remotely. You will be responsible for working with customers to uncover their problems, the associated business impact, and help them understand how Auvik can solve their issues. This is a high-velocity sales role, with average sales cycle in the 30-45 day range so there is lots of opportunity to achieve and exceed your quota!

You will:

  • Work together with prospects to develop them into successful customers and partners.
  • Work with your assigned prospects to fully uncover the business problems they are trying to solve with network monitoring & management.
  • Help your prospects uncover and articulate the value associated with solving those problems.
  • Clearly articulate how Auvik solves those problems and provides value through effective demonstrations and assisting prospects in the trial/POC process.
  • Build and align detailed mutual action plans with your prospects to help them navigate through the buying process.
  • Be responsible for managing your funnel and ensuring that all your activities are tracked. We run a tight ship here.
  • Work with the Auvik partner and customer success teams to provide ongoing value to our partners.
  • Quota is the threshold for success, not the ceiling!

What are we looking for?

  • A tenacious self-starter with a drive to succeed.
  • Proven success meeting/exceeding targets in SaaS based sales or sales engineering.
  • A people person, with a friendly and positive manner.
  • Great communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Candidates with experience selling networking and network-related, RMM/EMM, or PSA/ITSM solutions are preferred.
  • Must have technical aptitude or experience selling a highly technical product.

Are there bonus points?

Yes! We'll give your application extra credit if you have one or more of these:

  • A track record of over achievement, such as annual sales awards or a history of exceeding sales targets.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Experience with computer networking, selling SaaS products, or the managed service provider business model.

How do I apply?

Send us your resume, and tell us why your skills and experience are a great match for Auvik.

As one of Toronto's fastest-growing tech companies, we regularly recruit for this role as our team expands, and we welcome strong individuals interested in future openings.

About Auvik

Auvik delivers cloud-based network management software that gives IT teams instant visibility and control over their infrastructure - whether on-site, remote, or dispersed across global networks. Our platform automates network discovery, mapping, monitoring, configuration backups, traffic analysis and alerting, so IT professionals and MSPs can manage complex, multi-site environments with ease.

We're focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you're excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. We are happy to make any accommodations you may need throughout the interview process as well.

Auvik is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetics or any other basis forbidden under federal, provincial, or local law.

Hiring Process

At Auvik, our hiring process is designed to be personal, transparent, and human-led. Our Talent Acquisition Partners review all resumes, connect with candidates whose skills and experience aligns with the role, and stay in communication with you throughout your journey. If our interests align, you'll meet with a hiring manager, as well as additional members of the hiring team in follow-up conversations. All of your interviews will take place via Zoom.

Before meeting with a hiring manager, we also ask candidates to complete a 5-minute Predictive Index (PI) assessment. This helps us understand and match your strengths and work preferences with roles that will set you up for success.

We use AI tools to support administrative tasks in the hiring process; such as helping source candidates, drafting communications, and interview summaries, so our team can stay focused and present during conversations. We do not use AI tools to interview, screen or assess candidates; or determine who moves forward in the process. We debrief and consider the full context of every conversation before making hiring decisions. We believe hiring requires judgment that can be augmented but, not replaced by AI.
