What is remote influencer marketing?

Remote influencer marketing is a strategy where brands collaborate with influencers—individuals who have a significant online following—to promote products or services, all managed virtually rather than in-person. Professionals in this field coordinate campaigns, communicate with influencers, and track results entirely online, making it possible to work from anywhere. This approach leverages digital tools for outreach, project management, and analytics. Remote influencer marketing is popular among companies seeking flexible, cost-effective ways to reach targeted audiences through trusted voices.

What are remote influencer marketing jobs?

Companies often hire outgoing, enthusiastic people to help generate brand awareness and promote their products and services online, in person, or both. These people specialize in influencer marketing, a combination of the influencer’s high profile and reputation on social media and the company’s ability to create and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns. Many influencers work from home, as their responsibilities typically involve engaging with members of the target audience online. As an influencer, your duties might also include participating in company-sponsored events, discussing the company’s products with potential buyers, and generating excitement around new or upcoming offerings. This can be a short term campaign or a long term opportunity.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote influencer marketing specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Influencer Marketing Specialist, you need a solid understanding of digital marketing, social media strategy, and influencer trends, often supported by a degree in marketing or communications. Familiarity with influencer marketing platforms, campaign management tools, and analytics systems like Google Analytics or Hootsuite is typically required. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills help you coordinate campaigns and forge effective partnerships remotely. These abilities are crucial for building brand awareness, maximizing campaign ROI, and maintaining productive influencer relationships in a virtual environment.

How do remote influencer marketing professionals typically collaborate with influencers and internal teams?

Remote influencer marketing professionals often use digital communication tools like email, video conferencing, and project management platforms to maintain clear and timely collaboration with influencers and internal teams. They coordinate campaign goals, content approvals, and deliverables virtually, ensuring alignment between brand objectives and influencer content. Regular check-ins, shared calendars, and collaborative documents help streamline workflows and foster a supportive team environment, even when working across different time zones.

Job description

We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science.
We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won't solve the world's hardest problems - robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world.
World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached.
Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
We're hiring a Social Media Specialist, Influencer Marketing to run Runway's paid influencer and affiliate programs. You'll scout and pitch creators (primarily on YouTube), negotiate flat-fee paid briefs and performance-based affiliate deals, and own each relationship end to end, from first outreach through contract and payment. This is not a content production role.
The ideal candidate is highly online, organized, analytical, and action-oriented. You understand how content moves across platforms, can identify emerging trends early, know how to spot relevant creators and influencers and facilitate relationships with them, and can translate social insights into clear recommendations for the marketing and creative team.
What You'll Do
  • Scout and identify creators, primarily on YouTube, relevant to Runway's paid influencer and affiliate programs
  • Pitch creators on both programs: flat-fee paid briefs for influencers, and signup/performance-based deals for affiliates
  • Own outreach, negotiation, contracts, and paperwork for each creator relationship, end-to-end
  • Partner with outside agencies running outreach at scale to keep the creator pipeline full
  • Stay immersed in YouTube and the broader AI/creative tools creator landscape, tracking trends and surfacing who's worth pursuing next
  • Share what's resonating with creators and audiences with the creative team to help inform organic content direction
  • Partner with the growth marketing team on attribution and reporting to track program performance and ROI
  • Coordinate with the creative team on briefs given to paid influencers

What We're Looking For
  • At least 2 years of experience in influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, social/creator partnerships, or a related role
  • An existing network of creator relationships, ideally with strength on YouTube
  • Comfortable negotiating fees and contracts directly with creators
  • Strong understanding of how content performs on YouTube specifically, plus a broader read on social and creator trends
  • Highly organized, able to manage a high volume of relationships, deals, and paperwork at once
  • Polished, confident, low-ego, and able to represent Runway well in creator conversations
  • Interest in AI, creative tools, video, design, filmmaking, advertising, and the broader creator economy

Nice to Have
  • Experience running affiliate programs specifically, not just influencer marketing
  • Experience working with influencers or outreach agencies
  • Experience working at a creative, consumer, prosumer, AI, design, or technology company
  • Familiarity with Runway and the broader AI creative ecosystem

Runway strives to recruit and retain exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds while ensuring pay equity for our team. Our salary ranges are based on competitive market rates for our size, stage and industry, and salary is just one part of the overall compensation package we provide.
There are many factors that go into salary determinations, including relevant experience, skill level and qualifications assessed during the interview process, and maintaining internal equity with peers on the team. The range shared below is a general expectation for the function as posted, but we are also open to considering candidates who may be more or less experienced than outlined in the job description. In this case, we will communicate any updates in the expected salary range.
Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.
