Job description

Full-Time | Remote (U.S. - EastCoast Time) | Reports to: Chief Financial Officer About DanceOne

DanceOne is the leading platform for dance competitions, conventions, and educational experiences across North America. Through our portfolio of premier brands, we serve dancers, educators, studios, and families nationwide, delivering exceptional live events, digital experiences, and community engagement opportunities.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Information Technology is DanceOne's most senior technology leader — a hands-on "mini-CTO/CIO" responsible for setting and executing technology strategy across a global, highly decentralized live-events business.

You will own a broad, fast-growing technology environment that spans commercial platforms — Microsoft 365, NetSuite, Planful, Ramp, FloQast, Salesforce, ADP, Atlassian/Jira, Monday.com, Snowflake, and AWS, among others — alongside proprietary, in-house platforms for event registration, media distribution, and content production.

Today, that environment includes overlapping tools, manual and spreadsheet-driven workflows, fragmented approvals and reporting, and inconsistent data quality. Your mandate is to bring strategy, structure, integration, and trustworthy data to the entire organization.

You will lead one direct report — a skilled IT Operations Manager who also oversees the IT help desk — and partner closely with the CFO, executive leadership team, business-unit leaders, and outside vendors and consultants.

Your First Three Priorities1. Set a Company-Wide Technology Strategy

Rationalize technology spend, consolidate overlapping tools, and unify the organization on a cohesive technology platform strategy. Ensure systems integrate effectively and support scalable business operations while maximizing existing investments before introducing new solutions.

2. Lead Project Management, RFPs, and Vendor Strategy

Evaluate current systems, initiatives, and future opportunities while defining clear work plans, objectives, requirements, and solutions. Lead vendor selection, RFP processes, and consultant relationships. Translate business needs into practical technology solutions and develop executive-level recommendations to support informed decision-making.

3. Establish a Single Source of Truth

Improve data quality, governance, and reporting across the organization. Develop standards, processes, and controls that ensure leadership can confidently rely on company data to drive decisions and measure performance.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the CFO's primary technology partner and the organization's senior-most IT leader.

  • Own the company's technology portfolio, including productivity, finance, CRM, HRIS/payroll, data, collaboration, networking, and proprietary event platforms.

  • Lead and develop the IT Operations Manager and overall IT support function.

  • Oversee IT security, identity management, and network reliability across offices and event environments.

  • Drive integrations and data flows between business-critical systems.

  • Lead current and future technology initiatives, including system migrations, platform consolidations, and operational improvements.

  • Establish governance around documentation, licensing, security, budgeting, and vendor management.

  • Partner with business leaders across finance, operations, marketing, HR, and event production to identify and deliver technology solutions.

  • Provide leadership visibility through technology roadmaps, KPIs, reporting, and budget management.

What You BringRequired Qualifications
  • 10–15 years of progressive technology experience, including senior leadership and enterprise-wide strategy responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated success developing and executing technology strategy across multiple business functions.

  • Proven experience reducing technology complexity, consolidating systems, and improving operational efficiency.

  • Strong project management, RFP, and vendor management experience.

  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise applications, including ERP, HRIS/payroll, CRM, and other SaaS platforms.

  • Strong data, reporting, integration, and business intelligence expertise.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience supporting executive and board-level decision-making.

  • Experience operating within global, multi-entity, or highly decentralized organizations.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming, SQL, API, scripting, or application development experience.

  • Experience supporting finance organizations and financial systems.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, NetSuite, Planful, Ramp, FloQast, Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS, Atlassian/Jira, Monday.com, and ADP.

  • Experience in live events, entertainment, media, hospitality, or other seasonal and operationally complex industries.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced education preferred.

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, AWS, Azure, CISSP, or CISM are a plus.

Who You Are
  • A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable discussing executive priorities and technical solutions.

  • A hands-on problem solver who takes ownership and drives results.

  • Highly organized and capable of bringing structure to fast-moving, decentralized environments.

  • Passionate about data quality, accuracy, and operational excellence.

  • An effective communicator who can bridge the gap between technology and business stakeholders.

  • Focused on simplification, integration, and long-term scalability rather than unnecessary complexity.

Location & Travel
  • Remote within the United States.

  • Ability to work Eastern Time business hours.

  • Occasional travel for leadership meetings, company events, and strategic initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive executive compensation package, commensurate with experience.

  • Annual performance bonus opportunity.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.

  • 401(k) with company match.

  • Paid Time Off and company holidays.

  • Access to DanceOne employee programs and professional development opportunities.

Texting Privacy Policy and Information:

  • Message type: Informational; you will receive text messages regarding your application and potentially regarding interview scheduling.
  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
  • Message frequency will vary depending on the application process.
  • Msg & data rates may apply.
  • OPT out at any time by texting "Stop".
