Job description

Job Title: Project Manager – Healthcare Payment Systems Implementation
Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Potential Extension Based on Performance and Business Need)
Location: Tri-State Area (Hybrid – Remote & Onsite Travel Required)

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a large-scale healthcare payment systems implementation initiative across multiple healthcare facilities throughout the Tri-State area. This role will focus on deploying and implementing HealthPay24 payment devices and related payment workflows across hospitals, medical centers, and healthcare sites.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare project management, implementation management, and stakeholder coordination. This position requires both strategic project oversight and hands-on execution, including site assessments, deployment coordination, stakeholder communication, and go-live support.

This is a hybrid position with approximately 70% remote work and 30% onsite travel. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the Tri-State area and have access to a personal vehicle for travel between healthcare facilities.

 

Project Locations:

Travel may be required to various healthcare sites including:

  • Eastern Mather Hospital
  • Huntington, NY
  • Suffolk County, NY
  • New York City locations
  • Westchester County locations

Mileage reimbursement will be provided. If overnight travel is required for project needs, hotel accommodations and per diem expenses will be covered.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects from initiation through go-live.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Escalate risks, issues, and roadblocks as needed.

Site Assessments & Deployment Coordination

  • Conduct onsite assessments to evaluate existing payment collection workflows and operational processes.
  • Assess infrastructure and technical readiness at healthcare facilities.
  • Document current-state environments and identify implementation requirements.
  • Coordinate deployment activities across multiple locations.

Healthcare Payment Systems Implementation

  • Manage implementation and deployment of HealthPay24 payment devices and payment solutions.
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure successful installation, configuration, and activation of devices.
  • Coordinate testing, deployment readiness, and go-live activities.
  • Support standardization of payment collection processes across healthcare locations.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Facilitate status meetings and project communications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare operations, IT leadership, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships and implementation deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment between operational and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Go-Live Support

  • Serve as the primary onsite project lead during deployments and go-live events.
  • Coordinate command center activities and issue resolution.
  • Ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of new payment technologies.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects within the healthcare industry.
  • Experience leading implementation, deployment, or technology rollout projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing project schedules, status reporting, escalations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of the Tri-State area.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare IT implementation experience.
  • Experience with healthcare payment systems, patient financial services, or revenue cycle operations.
  • Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes.
  • Experience supporting hospital, health system, or multi-site healthcare deployments.
  • Prior experience with HealthPay24 implementations is a plus but not required.
