What does a remote IT director do?

A remote IT director works outside the main company headquarters or worksite and remotely manages information technology systems. You plan and engineer IT systems, oversee teams and project development, troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and equipment, and assign tasks to team members. Working remotely, you use technology to connect with employees and clients, communicate via email and other virtual methods, use networks to access IT systems, and potentially travel to remote sites to repair hardware or perform updating duties. Your responsibilities also include preparing budgets for projects, researching and recommending new products, and learning about new technology as applicable.
