Job description

HR Solutions Analyst - Workday
Position Type: Full Time, Exempt.
Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 annually DOE; may be eligible for bonus.
Location: This position is based at the Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, California. This position offers a hybrid work option after a 90-day probationary period (not fully remote).
We are only considering candidates who have experience in Human Resources (either as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner), along with Project Management, analytical experience, and hands-on Workday expertise.
About the Company:
Ensign Services, Inc. (“ESI”) is a subsidiary of The Ensign Group, Inc. whose affiliated entities are considered national leaders in the fast-growing post-acute care industry. ESI provides service and support to over 378 facilities in the long-term care continuum that employ over 55,000 employees.
ESI is known as the “Service Center” and provides the facilities and leaders it serves with “back-office” support in areas such as accounting, construction, compliance, human resources, information technology, learning and development, legal and risk management and recruiting. This structure allows the onsite leaders and caregivers to focus on day-to-day care and operational issues in their individual operations. What sets ESI apart from other companies is the quality of our most valuable resource - our people.
We take our core values of Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second, and Ownership (“CAPLICO”) seriously. We want an individual in this role who will demonstrate these values through actions and words.
About the Opportunity:
We’re seeking a dynamic HR Solutions Analyst – Workday to bridge HR expertise with technology-driven solutions. This role requires a combination of hands-on HR experience across all areas of HR (recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee lifecycle management), business analysis, and Workday system optimization. You’ll partner with HR teams, IT and business stakeholders to enhance, optimize processes in and out of Workday, and deliver impactful HR technology projects from kickoff to implementation. If you’re an HR professional with analytical skills and a passion for systems, this is your opportunity to grow into a strategic HR tech role!
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with HR teams to prioritize business needs, understand current HR processes, identify pain points and determine how Workday can best address them.
  • Design and configure Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent Management, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits) to align with business needs, including creating custom workflows, fields, and reports.
  • Lead the implementation process, including data migration, testing, user training, and change management activities.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and address user queries related to Workday functionality.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize HR processes within Workday or with a Workday solution in mind, proposing and implementing system enhancements to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain customized reports and dashboards within Workday to provide actionable insights for HR leadership.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects with a Workday solution in mind, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations. Projects should always have a Workday solution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in Workday, preferably in a project manager or BSA role.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday modules, HR processes, and data workflows.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects with a focus on HRIS or enterprise systems.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specs and actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • PMP, CBAP, or Workday certifications are a plus.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of Workday HCM modules and functionalities, including configuration options and best practices.
  • Understanding of core HR concepts like recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Strong ability to gather and analyze business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and document detailed process flows.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects with defined timelines and milestones from kickoff to implementation.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation, reporting tools, and basic understanding of system integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including HR leadership, technical teams, and end-users.
Additional Information:
  • Pre-employment criminal background screening required.
What We Offer:
We are committed to providing a competitive benefits and compensation package which includes medical/dental/vision coverage, company-provided life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and sick/vacation plans. Additionally, enjoy access to our fully equipped onsite gym (San Juan Capistrano office location). We also believe in supporting our employee’s professional growth and development through our Learning Management System as well as training sessions and seminars.
