• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying specific care needs and developing tailored treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focusing on emotional issues related to aging, such as depression, anxiety, and social isolation.
• Work closely with healthcare teams to craft comprehensive care strategies that incorporate medical, psychological, and social perspectives.
• Educate families and staff members on effective approaches to support the emotional well-being and quality of life of seniors.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling to residents and their families, particularly those navigating end-of-life challenges.

This role primarily focuses on geriatric clients, who have unique mental health needs and face challenges such as loss, major life changes, and cognitive decline. The counselor will engage with seniors to help them find effective coping mechanisms, fostering resilience and improving their overall mental health. A culturally sensitive approach will be paramount to ensure that services are accessible and appropriate for diverse populations.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent hands-on experience in geriatric mental health counseling and support.
• Proficiency in evidence-based interventions tailored for the elderly population.
