We provide best-in-class food safety, restaurant, lodging, and leadership training to hoteliers, food service businesses, and academic institutions across the world. We equip our global audience with innovative, engaging training utilizing multiple platforms, from textbooks to online resources to mobile applications.

As an eLearning Developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of online training products, working within various authoring tools and emerging technologies, including AI-assisted workflows, implementing course design, building course functionality, and publishing online courses for the LMS.

Position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience. Ideal candidates bring advanced understanding of e-learning course authoring tools, including Articulate Storyline and Rise and a mobile-first development mindset. Must bring solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products such as Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop. Experience with Lectora authoring tool is a plus.

You will excel in this role if you’re able to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining strong timemanagement and organizational skills. We are looking for someone highly adaptable and collaborative, who brings a positive, solutionsfocused mindset.

Position may operate out of our Chicago, or Orlando offices with hybrid flexibility. We may also consider fully remote candidates outside these locations, depending on experience and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Business Services team to accomplish Association goals.
  • Assist Manager, Creative Production, to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Use e-learning authoring tools to build interactive digital learning experiences.
  • Using storyboards, templates, and design documents, build interactive e-learning modules, including activities, quizzes, graphics, animation, and gamified and other multimedia elements.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, graphic designers, media producers, QA, project managers, and leadership.
  • Provide quality assurance on vendor/contractor-related projects; assist with troubleshooting as needed.
  • Manage all development files and ensure they are kept current and organized.
  • Maintain deep functional knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards and implement them within online learning materials.
  • Apply understanding of SCORM and xAPI standards and knowledge of LMS standards.
  • Stay current with the latest e-learning development trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve processes and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Work within cloud-based collaboration tools such as Adobe Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and others.
  • Support all internal team members and departments following the Association mission and values while promoting Association culture.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia design, instructional design, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with developing e-learning courses.
  • Expert knowledge of Articulate e-learning authoring tools, including Storyline and Rise.
  • Understanding of SCORM and xAPI standards.
  • Deep functional knowledge of accessibility standards and experience creating WCAG-compliant e-learning products.
  • Experience creating e-learning products optimized for mobile learning.
  • Expertise in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator. Experience with After Effects and Premiere a plus.
  • Experience using motion graphics and animation software is highly desired.
  • Experience with version control and asset management systems (e.g., DAMs, BOX).
  • Highly effective organizational, time-management, and priority-setting skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid work environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and quickly grasp technical issues and problems.
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and comfortable learning other technology platforms as needed.
  • Minimal travel may be required; less than 10%.
