Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week

Pay: $150,000+ salary

Description:

Come join a growing forensic engineering and architecture firm! We are an engineering and architecture firm that specializes in investigating and repairing damaged structures and infrastructure. We are looking for a qualified candidate to build and lead a nationwide construction claims practice. A Construction Claims and Dispute Resolution Specialist capable of handling legal and financial disagreements arising during construction projects, such as delays, cost overruns, and contractual breaches. They act as a bridge between technical site operations and legal teams, aiming to protect a client's interests through negotiation, mediation, or formal proceedings like arbitration.


Requirements:

  • Must have 15+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software Primavera P6 for delay analysis.
  • Relocation assistance possible.
  • Testimony experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel nationally and perform site inspections.
  • Remote or hybrid work is an option, with national travel.


Duties:

  • Claim Analysis & Preparation: Investigating the root causes of disputes such as scope changes, late information, or design errorsโ€”and preparing detailed, evidence-based claim reports.
  • Forensic Investigation: Performing delay analysis (e.g., Critical Path Method) to establish time impacts and quantum analysis to quantify financial damages.
  • Contractual Oversight: Reviewing contract terms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT) to identify entitlements, obligations, and potential risks before they escalate.
  • Dispute Resolution: Negotiating settlements with stakeholders or supporting Alternative
  • Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes, including mediation, adjudication, and arbitration.
  • Documentation Management: Maintaining records of site diaries, emails, and photos to serve as a forensic foundation for claims.
  • Litigation Support: Partnering with legal counsel to develop strategies and potentially serving as an expert witness during trials or hearings.
