Job description

About Mathspace
Mathspace is a cutting-edge eLearning platform delivering enriching, personalised mathematics content to thousands of schools worldwide. Students receive step-by-step feedback and guidance, and our interactive content adapts to each learner's proficiency while providing educators with data-driven insights to guide student growth. Mathspace is an online mathematics program used by students from primary school through higher education , with a mission to transform the traditional one-size-fits-all math textbook into an engaging, adaptive learning journey.
About the Role
We are looking for an IB Curriculum Content Project Manager to lead the creation and refinement of our International Baccalaureate (IB) mathematics textbooks for both the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). In this 12-month contract role (fully remote), you will leverage your deep understanding of the IB curriculum to ensure our content is pedagogically sound, fully aligned with IB standards, and of the highest quality. You will project manage the end-to-end content development process, coordinating a team of writers and editors, planning content delivery, performing detailed reviews, and continually improving our workflow with the latest tech and AI tools.
This role is ideal for an experienced IB educator or curriculum developer who is also tech-savvy. You will play a critical part in shaping world-class IB math resources that empower teachers and students globally.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Content Development: Oversee the end-to-end creation of IB MYP & DP mathematics textbook content, from initial planning through final publication. Manage project timelines, set milestones, and ensure the content development stays on track.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all lessons, examples, and practice questions are tightly aligned with IB curriculum requirements and reflect the depth and breadth of the IB MYP and DP syllabi. The goal is to cover all required topics with appropriate rigor and IB-specific approaches (e.g. inquiry-based learning, real-world contexts).
  • Content Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of content produced by the team (including lessons, questions, solutions, and explanatory materials). Provide detailed, specific feedback to authors on how to improve clarity, pedagogical effectiveness, and alignment. Your review comments will guide the internal team in making edits to meet our high standards of accuracy, clarity, and IB-style educational quality.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with a team of content developers, educators, and editors. Facilitate collaboration and communication across the team, ensuring everyone understands the project goals and quality expectations. Mentor content writers in best practices for IB curriculum design.
  • Process Improvement & AI Integration: Continuously refine our content development and review processes to improve efficiency and quality. Be proactive in leveraging technology and AI tools (e.g. content generation and analysis tools) to aid in creating and reviewing materials. For example, use AI to help generate draft questions or check alignment, and integrate new tools to streamline workflows. Being comfortable with the latest ed-tech and AI tools is a must for maximizing productivity.

  • Final Quality Ownership: Before content is released, ensure that each unit/chapter meets a "world-class" quality standard: fact-checked, pedagogically sound, engaging for students, and polished in language and presentation. Ultimately, you are the guardian of quality for our IB math textbooks, ensuring that Mathspace's IB offerings can serve as comprehensive stand-alone resources for schools .

Requirements
  • IB Curriculum Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the IB mathematics curriculum for MYP and DP. Ideally, at least a few years of experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP Mathematics, or experience in developing IB-aligned curriculum materials. You should be intimately familiar with IB objectives, assessment criteria, and the style of IB math problems.
  • Content Development Experience: Strong background in educational content creation - for example, writing or editing math textbook chapters, lesson plans, or exam-style questions. You understand how to scaffold concepts and design practice problems that build understanding.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent organisational and project management abilities. Experience leading projects or teams in an education or publishing context is highly valued (e.g. managing a curriculum writing project or publishing a textbook). You can break down large tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate others' work effectively.
  • Tech Savvy & AI Proficiency: High comfort with technology and quick to adapt to new tools. Willingness to use and experiment with modern AI tools to enhance productivity and content quality is essential. You don't need to be a programmer, but you should be eager to utilise software to work smarter. Experience with tools like LaTeX or other math authoring software is also beneficial .
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills - especially in writing clear, constructive feedback. Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team, coordinate meetings or discussions across time zones, and share knowledge with colleagues. You can articulate what makes good educational content and guide others to achieve it.
  • Detail Orientation and Quality Focus: Meticulous attention to detail when it comes to academic accuracy, formatting, and consistency. A passion for maintaining high quality standards. You care about the student learning experience and will insist on clarity and correctness in every piece of content.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Educational Publishing Experience: Prior experience in a curriculum publishing role or as an editor for math educational content. Familiarity with the processes of textbook publishing, such as peer review, copyediting, and layout considerations.
  • Assessment and Exam Insight: Experience writing or grading mathematics exams (for IB or other curricula) can be helpful, as it gives insight into exam-style question quality and common student pitfalls .

  • Coding/Tools: Basic experience with programming or data tools (e.g. Python or SQL) isn't required but could be useful in working with our system or analysing content usage data . Similarly, experience using LaTeX for mathematical content formatting is an advantage.

Benefits
  • Remote Work & Flexibility: This role is fully remote - work from home with flexible hours. We value work-life balance and can accommodate flexible arrangements .
  • Collaborative, Impactful Culture: Join a relaxed, friendly team environment where your contributions directly impact teachers and students across the world . We foster creativity and teamwork, with the shared goal of improving math education globally.
  • Professional Growth: You'll be at the forefront of integrating AI and innovative practices in education. This is an opportunity to lead a high-profile project and further develop leadership skills in curriculum development.
  • Mission-Driven Work: Be part of a mission to deliver better learning experiences. Your work will help shape a comprehensive IB math resource used by schools internationally, truly making a difference in classrooms.

If you are passionate about the IB curriculum and excited about harnessing technology to create outstanding educational content, we'd love to hear from you. Come help us shape the future of IB mathematics learning with Mathspace!
