Job description

As a Business Development Director focused on Financial Services at Bluewave, you will cultivate new customers for our technology solution advisory within the financial services space. Your goal is to generate long-term mutual value between each customer and Bluewave. You will carry a defined quota and be responsible for meeting or exceeding that quota on a quarterly basis.

This role requires a demonstrable understanding of the financial services space and the IT advisory/telecommunications industry. You act with the highest integrity, and your strong communication and organization skills enable you to excel at both internal and external communications while maintaining disciplined funnel management, forecasting, and quota attainment.

What you'll do
  • Proactively identify and cultivate new customer opportunities in the financial services industry.
  • Impact sales results through executive-level engagement with key partners, including QBRs, strategic planning sessions, and CEO/COO-level meetings.
  • Develop and write program concepts, proposals, and reports.
  • Understand customer challenges and engage appropriate internal expertise and solution engineers to create value-added solutions.
  • Develop strategies and business plans, leveraging partners and executing against metrics and milestones to drive company revenue.
  • Interface with Account Directors, Operations, Partners, and Marketing to generate compelling, segment-specific marketing material.
  • Attend trade shows and segment-specific networking events.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date Salesforce entries for a high volume of activity.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work location

This is a remote role. To be considered, candidates must live in one of these markets: Northern NJ, Boston, MA, or Chicago, IL (United States).

What qualities you possess
  • Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic and dependability.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset.
  • Creative, decisive, and able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to work well independently without close supervision or management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to deliver accurate information in a usable form and in a timely manner.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
What you'll bring
  • 5+ years of proven success in consultative selling.
  • 2+ years of experience selling to technology decision-makers (e.g., CIO, CTO, IT leaders) within Financial Services.
  • Strong understanding of UCaaS, CCaaS, PaaS, data center, and telecommunications solutions.
  • Discipline in the use of CRM tools (Salesforce) for forecasting and sales activity tracking.
  • Windows PC experience and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Reside in one of the specified markets.
It's also helpful if you've got
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
Eligibility
  • Bluewave is an E-Verify employer.
  • We are not sponsoring work visas for this position at this time.
Compensation and benefits
  • Base salary: $100,000โ€“$135,000+, depending on experience.
  • On-target commission potential: $75,000โ€“$125,000+.
  • Bluewave offers full-time, eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance options, a generous 401(k) match, Open PTO, Paid Parental Leave, and more.
