We're looking for a remote contract attorney who enjoys family law, takes ownership of their cases, and wants meaningful legal work without the rigid structure and bureaucracy often found in larger firms.

Position Overview

This is a flexible, remote contract position for an attorney licensed to practice law in Alaska, or willing to obtain an Alaska bar license. The attorney will manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including litigation, negotiation, and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicating directly with clients, and handling a caseload with minimal supervision while remaining collaborative with the firm's team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage family law cases from start to finish
  • Handle contested and uncontested divorces, custody disputes, child support matters, and property division issues
  • Draft motions, pleadings, affidavits, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
  • Develop case strategy and advise clients regarding legal options and risk assessment
  • Conduct legal research and prepare for hearings and trial
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
  • Appear in court as required throughout Alaska
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and provide compassionate, practical guidance
