Job description

Family Office CPA | High-Net-Worth Family Office | 100% Remote

An exceptional opportunity for a CPA who wants more than just closing the books.

We're partnering with a rapidly growing private family office seeking a highly driven CPA to become a trusted financial partner supporting a sophisticated portfolio of operating companies, investments, and high-net-worth interests.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you'll have direct visibility into complex financial operations, oversee accounting and tax across multiple entities, and play an active role in supporting a portfolio valued between $100M-$200M in assets. This isn't a back-office accounting position - it's a highly visible role where you'll work alongside ownership, influence key financial decisions, and become an integral part of the day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, resourceful, personable, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where initiative is valued.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation across multiple entities
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for complex ownership structures
  • Maintain accurate financial records and oversee day-to-day accounting operations
  • Coordinate banking relationships, financing activities, and lender communications
  • Support investment analysis and financial decision-making across various business entities
  • Partner directly with ownership on strategic financial initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, leverage automation, and drive operational efficiencies
  • Operate as the internal accounting and tax expert within a fast-moving organization

What We're Looking For

  • Active CPA license required - CA, TX preferred
  • Proven experience preparing and filing business and individual tax returns
  • Strong bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience
  • Experience supporting multiple entities, holding companies, or complex ownership structures
  • Exposure to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private investments, or closely held businesses
  • Public accounting experience combined with private industry experience is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, lending, banking, and investment transactions
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Self-starter who is organized, proactive, and thrives with autonomy
  • Someone who is polished, sharp, scrappy, and enjoys wearing multiple hats

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • 100% Remote
  • Direct partnership with ownership and executive leadership
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of businesses and investments
  • High-impact role with significant autonomy
  • Opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly expanding family office
  • Competitive compensation with flexibility for the right individual
  • Long-term career opportunity with substantial growth potential

If you're looking for a traditional corporate accounting role, this probably isn't it. If you're energized by complexity, enjoy solving problems, want meaningful exposure to sophisticated financial operations, and are excited about becoming a trusted advisor within a growing family office, we'd love to connect!
