What is a remote family office?

A remote family office is a service or team that manages the financial, investment, administrative, and personal affairs of wealthy individuals or families, but operates virtually rather than from a physical office location. These offices oversee tasks like wealth management, tax planning, estate planning, and sometimes lifestyle management, all coordinated online or through digital means. This setup allows family members to access services from anywhere, provides flexibility, and often reduces overhead costs associated with traditional, in-person offices.

How does a remote family office professional typically collaborate with clients and team members across different locations?

In a remote family office setting, professionals rely heavily on digital communication tools such as video conferencing, secure messaging platforms, and cloud-based document sharing to coordinate with clients and colleagues. Regular virtual meetings help ensure alignment on investment strategies, estate planning, and administrative tasks. Building trust and maintaining confidentiality are paramount, so robust cybersecurity measures are standard practice. Despite working remotely, collaboration is frequent and structured, often with clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure seamless service delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Family Office professional, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Family Office professional, you need expertise in financial management, wealth planning, and investment analysis, typically supported by a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Familiarity with portfolio management software, financial reporting systems, and certifications such as CPA or CFA are highly valued. Strong communication, discretion, and organizational skills help build trust and manage complex, confidential client needs. These skills ensure effective stewardship of family assets, seamless service delivery, and long-term client satisfaction in a remote setting.

Are you an ambitious Family Law Attorney ready to embrace a premier remote career? At the Law Office of Bryan Fagan, our attorneys are more than just legal professionals; they are the heartbeat of our practice, providing expert advocacy and life-changing support to clients throughout the litigation process. We are seeking seasoned remote-based attorneys to lead our efforts across Texas, specifically in high-impact areas like Houston.
Why This is Your Destination Career
We understand that to provide the best service to our clients, our team must feel supported and appreciated at every corner. We value our leaders and strive to provide a world-class work-life balance in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Focus on Law, Not Sales: You won't spend your time generating leads or hunting for new business. Our centralized intake and sales teams manage client acquisition, allowing you to focus entirely on managing cases and developing expert strategies.
  • Elite Support Structure: Every attorney is assigned a dedicated legal team, including a paralegal and an internal biller (account representative). This structure removes financial administrative burdens, such as trust account management and billing disputes, from your desk.
  • Unrivaled Flexibility: We offer a fully remote (100%) work environment for seasoned professionals with 5+ years of Texas family law experience. For those with 2+ years of experience, we provide a hybrid model based on maintaining billable hours.

Our Expansive Texas Presence
We are strategically positioned in the most vibrant communities across Texas, with 11 state-of-the-art offices. Our network includes our Corporate Headquarters and River Oaks locations in Houston, as well as offices in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, and Fort Worth.
If you are a motivated advocate with a passion for the courtroom and a desire for a workplace you can truly call home, we invite you to join our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Your role in our mission includes the following responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage family law cases from beginning to end.
  • Provide superior customer service to all clients including monthly status reports and weekly reviews of cases.
  • Make improvement recommendations to practice managers.
  • Manage performance metrics to track accomplishments and client satisfaction through practice quality software.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
What you will bring to the role:
  • (5) or more years of practicing family law in Texas. (7+) years of experience is highly preferred.
  • Have a valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Solid research and writing skills
  • A passion for conducting hearings and being in the courtroom, and handling Mediations and Consults.
  • Energetic and motivated.
  • Highly organized.
  • Knowledge of TxDoc and Clio OR similar drafting/client management software, MS Office or Google Suite proficiency.
  • Drafting of correspondence, pleadings, and discovery.

Benefits
Enjoy Your Total Rewards Package!
  • Competitive Pay: $75K-$130K (based on years of experience)
  • Paid Time Off!
  • Earn up to $70K More: We offer an attractive billable hour bonus plan, paid out every 2 weeks!
  • Affordable Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
  • Short/Long Term Disability Life Insurance and Voluntary Term Life Insurance.
  • An outstanding 401K (match up to 5%)!

Equal Opportunity Statement:
We recognize that diverse experiences, perspectives and backgrounds enable us to be an even stronger company and workplace. Not only will you be welcome here, your unique thoughts and opinions will be encouraged, celebrated and deeply valued.
