The Role: Financial Analyst, FP&A Capex

As a Financial Analyst, FP&A Capex at Switch, you will support the planning, forecasting, and financial management of capital projects across our growing portfolio of data center campuses. Your work will help ensure capital investments are accurately forecasted, tracked, and aligned with business objectives.

This role partners closely with Construction, Development, Treasury, Capital Markets, Billing, and Finance teams to support capital planning, project performance analysis, and financial reporting. You will also contribute to process improvements and financial systems that support scalable capital project management.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Support the development and management of capital expenditure budgets across multiple data center campuses and facilities

  • Serve as a financial partner to assigned regions, supporting capital planning, forecasting, and budget management

  • Build and maintain financial models used to evaluate investment opportunities and project performance

  • Analyze project results against underwriting assumptions, forecasts, budgets, and actual performance

  • Develop an understanding of data center construction, infrastructure investments, and associated technologies

  • Partner with Construction, Development, Treasury, Billing, and Finance teams to maintain accurate capital forecasts and reporting

  • Support the annual capital planning and forecasting process

  • Participate in monthly budget-versus-actual reviews and provide variance analysis and commentary

  • Maintain capital forecasts within Adaptive Planning or successor forecasting platforms by location and asset category

  • Analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as requested

Required Qualifications

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in FP&A, project finance, construction finance, infrastructure finance, or a related field

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline

  • Experience building financial models and performing financial analysis

  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills

  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Projects/PPM

  • Experience with Oracle EPM Planning or Financials

  • Experience with capital project accounting, project costing, commitments, EAC, capitalization, or WIP reporting

  • Familiarity with project billing and reimbursement processes

  • CPA, CMA, PMP, or similar professional certification

  • Experience in data centers, infrastructure, construction, real estate, or other capital-intensive industries
