Job description

Position Purpose

This position will be the lead financial analyst and financial representative for Renown Health’s Design and Construction team. This role will be responsible for ensuring project budgets are planned and maintained, costs are accurately tracked, and all financial documentation is thoroughly and accurately maintained. The analyst will work closely with construction project managers and other stakeholders to develop budgets, oversee financial components of design and construction contracts and evaluate project costs. In addition, they will be responsible for reviewing weekly pay applications, and purchase orders and invoices to ensure compliance. They will establish reporting mechanisms for routine financial reports to Renown Health’s finance and executive leadership.

Nature and Scope

Incumbent will maintain accountability for the following:

• Develop accurate financial tracking and reporting tools for construction projects.

• Collaborate closely with construction and interiors project managers to develop project budgets and maintain them through the course of the project lifecycle.

• Submit monthly financial construction reports to leadership, ensuring accuracy and using strong financial acumen.

• Review pay applications and invoices weekly for all construction projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and financial accuracy.

• Prepare for periodic project audits, leading project teams in ensuring compliance with all auditing guidelines and maintaining project records for accuracy and longevity.

• Responsible for tracking project capitalization and depreciation reporting, ensuring timely submissions based on fluid project completion dates.

• Work daily in the construction project management software, e-Builder, to ensure financial accuracy for all projects within the system.

• Using e-Builder, establish cash flow reporting tools and mechanisms to increase visibility for the organization into construction spending.

• Staying current with industry trends in both construction and finance.

• Conducting and leading monthly construction project update meetings as well as working with project managers to establish financial projections and identify risks.

• Analyzing financial transactions and incorporating unforeseen costs into project budgets.

• Maintaining contract documents, billing folders, and all related records, including lien releases and monthly waivers.

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

1. Demonstrated corporate problem-solving track record.

2. Proven ability to direct the appropriate resources to successfully complete complex multi-phase construction financial initiatives throughout the health network.

Education:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Business or similar discipline.

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in construction project accounting, project controls, cost analysis or related field. Experience working in healthcare systems is favorable. Working knowledge of construction contracts and project cost terminology.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
