Job description

Job Title:ย  Compliance Specialist- Surveyor, Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Programs and Narcotic Treatment Programs- Atlanta Pay Grade: L Workplace: Remote Travel: Yes, statewide travel at least 75% of the time Job Summary:

Conducts compliance surveys of providers for adherence to Department rules and regulations, primarily focusing on Drug Abuse Treatment and Education Programs (DATEP) and Narcotic Treatment Programs (NTP). Acts as subject matter expert in required areas. Functions as a resource within the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance based upon the needs at any given time.ย  Travel statewide approximately 60-75% of the time, on average, and will vary depending on need.

Primary Responsibilities:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains working knowledge of all rules and regulations that are used to evaluate compliance.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Plans, schedules and implements compliance surveys, as assigned.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Evaluates provider compliance and adherence to requirements, and draws conclusions based on evidence provided to develop findings of deficiency and to determine license eligibility.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepares detailed, thorough, professional and accurate reports by incorporating data analysis, data interpretation, rules and regulations which describe complex and/or technical information that can sustain legal challenges.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Works closely with other staff to ensure survey instrument adequately reflects provider requirements, policy, rules, regulations, laws, etc.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Acts as subject matter expert in field of expertise.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Independently conducts onsite visits.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains records in accordance with State and Federal laws at all times.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Completes accurate, thorough, and timely entry of information into databases and applications.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicates effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides technical assistance to providers regarding policy, rules, and regulation requirements.ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Use critical thinking skills to determine risks to individuals being served.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Represents DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience or Associate's degree in a related field and three years of related experience.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of DATEP and NTP services.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders as well as opioid use disorders, preferably within DATEP/NTP services.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Professional licensure or credentialing in a related field (certified addiction professional, nursing etc.)

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience conducting compliance audits based on regulations, legal requirements and/or accreditation standards.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Exceptional computer skills.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
