Job description

Seeking a Licensed Psychologist to do Mental Health Competency Evaluations for Nursing Home residents on a PRN basis. This position requires travel throughout central Maryland.

Supportive Care is a behavioral healthcare company with an extraordinary team of clinicians providing a full range of pharmacological, psychological, and behavioral health services to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and memory care communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive remote neurocognitive and mental competency evaluations for elderly nursing home residents via secure telehealth platforms.

  • Assess cognitive functioning, decision-making capacity, and mental status using standardized psychological and neurocognitive tools.

  • Prepare detailed, clinically sound written reports summarizing findings and offering clear recommendations regarding competency, guardianship, or care planning.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, including nursing staff, social workers, and primary care providers to gather collateral information and coordinate care.

  • Evaluate patients for diagnoses such as dementia, Alzheimerโ€™s disease, mood disorders, and other neuropsychiatric conditions affecting cognitive performance.

  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation and manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.

  • Provide expert testimony or consultation in guardianship or legal proceedings when required.

  • Stay current with evolving guidelines in geriatric mental health, telepsychology, and competency assessment protocols.

Flexible Work Schedule:

  • Self-determine your schedule between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday-Friday

  • Part-time or full-time opportunities are available (Varies with location)

Compensation:

  • Providers are paid per sessions completed

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Psychologist

  • Licensed Psychiatrist
