What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Buyer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Buyer, you need expertise in procurement processes, negotiation, and supply chain management, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with procurement software such as SAP Ariba or Oracle Procurement Cloud, as well as relevant certifications like CPSM or CIPS, is highly valuable. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills enable efficient supplier management, cost optimization, and successful remote collaboration, all critical for achieving business goals in a virtual environment.

Search & Comparison IntentPeople compare roles related to purchasing and sourcingPeople seek roles involving strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations

While both roles involve purchasing and sourcing, a Remote Buyer primarily focuses on purchasing goods at the best prices, often for retail or distribution companies. A Remote Procurement Specialist has a broader scope, including supplier management and strategic sourcing across various industries. Understanding these differences helps job seekers identify the right role based on their skills and career goals.

What Does a Remote Buyer Do?

Remote buyers, also called remote procurement managers, research supply vendors and purchase products for your employer. These products may be supplies needed to manufacture goods or to run daily operations, or they may be wholesale items that are resold at retail pricing. As a remote buyer, your responsibilities may include monitoring stock to ensure you replenish goods before the company runs out. You also negotiate with vendors to get the best pricing for the products you need and coordinate with the accounting department to pay the different vendors when the bills are due. Because this position works outside of the office, remote buyers utilize procurement software and online platforms to communicate regularly with managers and other departments.

How do Remote Buyers typically collaborate with suppliers and internal teams despite working offsite?

Remote Buyers often use digital communication tools such as email, video conferencing, and procurement platforms to stay connected with suppliers and internal stakeholders. They regularly coordinate with supply chain, finance, and product teams to ensure purchasing decisions align with company goals. Building strong relationships remotely requires proactive communication, clear documentation, and frequent updates to manage expectations and resolve any issues quickly. This collaborative approach helps maintain efficiency and transparency, even when working from different locations.

What does a remote buyer do?

A remote buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods or services for a company while working from a remote location. Their duties typically include researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, evaluating product quality, and ensuring timely delivery of purchased items. Remote buyers use digital tools to communicate with vendors, manage purchase orders, and track shipments, making it possible to perform these tasks efficiently from anywhere with an internet connection.

Job description

Time Zone: 40 hours/week | Significant overlap with US Eastern hours required (7+ hours daily - 9 AM - 5PM EST)

Full-Time | Remote | Fast-Growth Marketing Team

Launch Your Performance Marketing Career

Are you obsessed with marketing, consumer psychology, and what makes ads convert?

Do you find yourself analyzing ads while scrolling Instagram, wondering why some campaigns scale and others fail?

We're looking for a driven Junior Media Buyer to join our client's team and help manage high-volume Meta advertising campaigns across multiple accounts.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate early-career marketer with at least 1 year of hands-on marketing experience and exposure to Meta Ads Manager. You'll work directly with experienced performance marketers, learn how winning campaigns are built, and develop the skills needed to become a high-level media buyer.

This isn't a support role. This is the first step in a structured path toward becoming a Senior Media Buyer, with increasing responsibility, autonomy, and performance-based earning opportunities as you grow.

If you're ambitious, analytical, competitive, and genuinely passionate about digital marketing, we'd love to see what you can do.

Why This Opportunity Matters

Performance marketing moves fast. Small improvements can create significant results, and the ability to spot opportunities before others do is incredibly valuable.

In this role, you'll be at the center of campaign operations-analyzing performance, uncovering insights, monitoring competitors, and helping keep critical projects moving forward. Your work will help identify what's driving results, what needs improvement, and where the next growth opportunity lies.

More importantly, this role is designed as a career launchpad. The right person won't stay a Junior Buyer forever. Our client is intentionally investing in someone with the potential to grow into a senior buying role, with increasing responsibility, autonomy, and performance-based earning potential along the way.

About Our Client

Our client operates in the performance marketing space, managing campaigns across multiple advertising accounts and continuously testing, optimizing, and scaling what works.

Their success depends on strong execution, sharp analysis, and a team that proactively seeks opportunities for improvement. They value people who take ownership, stay organized, and bring thoughtful recommendations-not just observations.

This is a highly collaborative environment where initiative is rewarded, growth is encouraged, and strong performers have a clear path to advancing their careers.

What You'll Own

As a Junior Affiliate Media Buyer, you'll become the operational heartbeat of a performance marketing pod.

Analyze Meta Ad Performance

Dive into campaign data daily to identify what's working, what's underperforming, and where opportunities exist.

You'll review metrics such as:

  • CTR
  • CPC
  • CPL
  • CPA
  • Conversion rates
  • Spend efficiency

And translate your findings into actionable recommendations.

Research Winning Marketing Angles

  • Study competitors, ad creatives, funnels, and market trends to uncover opportunities that can improve campaign performance.
  • You'll be expected to think like a marketer, not just report numbers.

Drive Execution Across the Team

  • Work closely with our Creative Editor and Infrastructure Engineer to ensure priorities are clear and projects move forward efficiently.
  • You'll help keep the entire marketing pod organized and focused on the highest-impact work.

Document Insights & Opportunities

  • Maintain clear records of tests, findings, recommendations, and account activity so the team can move quickly and make better decisions.

Requirements

What Makes You Successful

You'll thrive in this role if:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 1 year of marketing experience
  • Experience working with Meta Ads Manager
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly in written English
  • Self-starter mentality and strong ownership
  • Passion for digital marketing, advertising, and consumer behavior
  • Availability to overlap significantly with US Eastern working hours

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Performance marketing experience
  • Affiliate marketing or lead generation experience
  • Experience using AdSpy tools
  • Familiarity with tracking platforms such as RedTrack or Voluum
  • Experience coordinating projects or small teams

Benefits

What's In It For You

  • Direct exposure to real-world performance marketing campaigns
  • Mentorship from experienced media buyers and marketers
  • A clear path toward a Senior Media Buying role
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and scaling campaigns
  • Remote work flexibility
  • Performance-based growth opportunities and incentives
  • A team that values initiative, curiosity, and continuous learning
  • Compensation of $1,200-$2,000 per month
  • Performance-based incentives with long-term earning potential that can grow significantly as you demonstrate results

Ready to Apply?

We believe great marketers demonstrate their skills through action.

There are no initial interviews for this position.

Qualified applicants will be invited directly to complete a practical assessment designed to evaluate marketing thinking, analytical ability, and Meta advertising knowledge.

Top performers will advance immediately to the next stage of the hiring process.

If you're excited about performance marketing and ready to prove what you can do, apply now and keep your eyes on your emails.
