Position SummaryThe Resource Development Coordinator for Balkan Region plays a critical role in advancing the ministry of Youth for Christ in the Balkan Region (North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, and beyond). Based in the U.S., this individual will serve as a strategic fundraiser and advocate, cultivating donor relationships and representing the needs and impact of Balkan ministries.
This position empowers local teams by alleviating their fundraising burden-freeing them to focus more fully on ministry and leadership development.
Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising & Donor Engagement - Cultivate and maintain donor relationships across the U.S.
- Secure 30-40% of the annual budgets for Youth for Christ Balkan nations through individual, church, and foundation partnerships
- Participate in donor meetings, calls, and events
Storytelling & Communication - Collaborate with Balkan ministry leaders to gather and share ministry updates, impact stories, prayer needs, and media content
- Produce newsletters, donor updates, and prayer letters to communicate the ministry's work effectively in English
Strategic Partnership - Work closely with the Balkan Region Director and national leaders to align strategies and communications
- Provide culturally sensitive guidance for English-language materials to increase U.S. donor engagement
Representation & Advocacy - Represent Youth for Christ Balkan Region at events, churches, and conferences in the U.S.
- Advocate for ministry needs and raise awareness among Christian networks and support communities
Travel & Relationship Management - Travel domestically 4-6 times per year to meet with donors and participate in fundraising events
- Attend Youth for Christ International, EMENA, and Balkan Region conferences (virtually or in person as needed)
Data Management & Reporting - Maintain accurate records of donor relationships and fundraising progress
- Provide consistent updates to the Balkan Region Director and Director of Global Engagement
Required QualificationsEducation - Some college coursework or Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience - 1-5+ years in ministry, nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or missions mobilization
- Experience with Youth for Christ or similar ministry a strong advantage
- Familiarity or relational connection to Balkan cultures is a plus
Skills & Tools - Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite, word processing, email, and Zoom
- Ability to manage multiple donor relationships and deadlines with professionalism and grace
