Job description

Pay: $26/hour
Type: Part-Time
Location: Remote โ€” open to applicants anywhere in the U.S.

Equivity is seeking a Remote Bankruptcy Paralegal with recent, hands-on Chapter 11 experience, including exposure to Subchapter V matters. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing the lifecycle of complex business bankruptcy cases and is looking for consistent, long-term remote work supporting multiple attorneys.
In this role, you will work as part of a dedicated, long-term team of legal professionals, partnering directly with attorneys while being fully supported by Equivityโ€™s internal operations and leadership. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in bankruptcy who can manage multiple matters, anticipate attorney needs, and thrive in a remote environment.
What Youโ€™ll Do
Support Chapter 11 cases from start to finish, including preparation and filing of:

  • Voluntary petitions
  • Schedules and Statements of Financial Affairs
  • Monthly Operating Reports
  • Disclosure statements and plans of reorganization
  • Assist with Subchapter V matters, including trustee coordination and required filings
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and amendments in bankruptcy court
  • Prepare hearing and 341 meeting materials, ensuring all required documentation is complete and timely
  • Communicate with attorneys, clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to move matters forward efficiently
  • Track deadlines and proactively manage case progress across multiple matters
  • Maintain accurate case files using platforms such as BestCase, PACER, and Clio
About You

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Bankruptcy
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum availability of 20 hours/week to start
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skill
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Experience with legal software (Clio or similar is a plus)
  • Experience with Bankruptcy software such as BestCase and NextChapter
  • Windows-based computer preferred
  • Availability and responsiveness within 1 hour during standard business hours (9:00 AM โ€“ 6:00 PM)
Why Youโ€™ll Love Working Here
At Equivity, you are part of a dedicated, internally managed team of legal professionalsโ€”not a temporary placement. We provide ongoing work with established attorneys while maintaining the flexibility of remote work. Youโ€™ll be supported by an experienced operations team and work in a collaborative, professional environment that values quality and long-term relationships.
Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid sick time and employee discounts
  • Annual performance bonuses
  • 6-month pay review with potential hourly increase based on performance
  • Reimbursement of certain expenses
  • Professional development and advancement opportunities
  • Supportive and inclusive remote work culture
