Job description

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team at our Wall NJ location! Our Paralegal position requires a significant amount of client contact and scheduling.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to attorneys.
  • Answer all office telephone calls (client/opposing party/3rd party interaction).
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on debt restructuring laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepare legal documents, including debt restructuring agreements, contracts, and settlement proposals.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting legal correspondence and pleadings related to client cases.
  • Manage calendaring dockets and court cases.
  • Schedule court appearances.
  • Communicate and liaise with clients, creditors, and legal partners to ensure smooth case progression and timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case details in our database.
  • Monitor and track the status of debt restructuring cases and keep all stakeholders informed of developments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in debt restructuring laws, and updates on creditor practices.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to improve internal processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Perform administrative duties (build and maintain database [data entry] and client files).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (any field), Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, OR Paralegal Certificate highly preferred
  • Prior experience working and supporting attorney(s) at a law firm (at least 1-2 years)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel (Required)
  • Proficient in legal research tools and database management
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Empathetic and professional demeanor with the ability to handle sensitive client matters
