Job description

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - Wind Construction Projects Location: Muleshoe, Texas Contract Duration: 12-months Compensation: $50.00/per hour Work Model: Onsite Per Diem: $178/day - 7/days per week System One is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of multiple utility-scale wind farm construction projects valued between $1.3Bโ€“$2B+. This position partners closely with the Project Manager and project team to coordinate daily construction activities, support project planning, and ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and communication.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting industrial or heavy civil construction projects and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative field environment. While prior wind energy experience is preferred, candidates with strong construction project backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Managers throughout the planning, construction, and closeout phases of large-scale wind energy projects.
  • Coordinate project activities across construction, engineering, procurement, materials, and sourcing teams.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation during the pre-construction phase.
  • Participate in design reviews, planning meetings, and construction coordination meetings.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in resolving field issues to maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain regular on-site presence during active construction to support project execution and facilitate communication between stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones, action items, and deliverables.
  • Assist with identifying project risks and developing solutions to minimize schedule or cost impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and construction safety standards.
  • Prepare project reports, meeting notes, and project documentation.
  • Foster strong communication among internal teams and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent construction experience.
  • Experience supporting construction or industrial projects.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders in a project environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utility-scale construction experience.
  • Wind energy or renewable energy project experience.
  • Industrial construction experience.
  • Engineering background.
  • PMP certification or progress toward PMP certification.
  • Experience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle.
