Project Manager

Nectar is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end design, development, and build of high-quality online courses for higher education. This is a part-time, contract position ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills in instructional design and digital learning environments.

The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams—including learning designers, media developers, SMEs, and LMS builders—to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverable timelines.
    • Coordinate with design and development teams to align on priorities, dependencies, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor progress and adjust schedules proactively to meet deadlines.
  • Team & Stakeholder Coordination
    • Serve as the main point of contact between instructional designers, subject matter experts, media teams, and client stakeholders.
    • Facilitate weekly status meetings and communicate progress reports and risks.
    • Ensure clear documentation and communication across all project contributors.
  • Quality & Workflow Management
    • Oversee adherence to instructional design and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Quality Matters, institutional rubrics).
    • Track review cycles, QA feedback, and final approvals.
    • Manage the course build process in the LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, or similar), ensuring design consistency and technical accuracy.
  • Process Optimization
    • Support continuous improvement in project workflows, documentation, and communication processes.
    • Contribute to team templates, playbooks, and reporting dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in higher education, instructional design, or EdTech environments.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; PMP or comparable certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, or D2L).
    • Experience with project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Asana, Trello, or Monday.com).
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Miro).
  • Knowledge of: Course design workflows, media production timelines, accessibility standards, and learning quality frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, proactive problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
