Job description

Position Overview
ASRC Federal is seeking a qualified Google Administrator to support the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). This role is responsible for the administration, configuration, and sustainment of the enterprise Google Workspace environment supporting a global user base of educators, administrators, and students.  This position is 100% remote.
The Google Administrator ensures the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of collaboration services while aligning with DoDEA cybersecurity policies, federal compliance requirements, and enterprise IT standards.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain the Google Workspace environment, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, Calendar, and associated services
  • Manage user accounts, organizational units (OUs), groups, roles, and permissions within the Google Admin Console
  • Implement, enforce, and monitor security controls including multi-factor authentication (MFA), data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint management, and access controls
  • Monitor system health, performance, and usage metrics using administrative dashboards and reporting tools
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Google Workspace-related incidents, service requests, and escalations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mail delivery, file access, sharing permissions, synchronization, and user provisioning
  • Support identity and access management integration with enterprise directory services (e.g., Active Directory, SSO solutions)
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure adherence to DoDEA policies, RMF controls, and DoD security requirements
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles
  • Deliver user guidance, training materials, and best practices to improve adoption and effective use of Google Workspace tools
  • Support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements related to system usage, access, and compliance
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in system administration, cloud services, or enterprise collaboration platforms
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain 
  • Experience administering Google Workspace in a large enterprise or educational environment
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including integration with directory services such as Active Directory
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, including access control, data protection, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed users in a global environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Google Workspace Administrator Certification
  • Experience supporting K-12 or higher education environments
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs, IL requirements)
  • Experience with scripting/automation (e.g., GAM, PowerShell, APIs)
  • ITIL Foundation or similar service management experience
 
Performance Standards
Tasks shall be completed in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
90% of assigned tasks are expected to be completed on time.
No more than 10% rejection rate per quarter for deliverables.
Timely response and resolution of incidents and service requests in alignment with contract performance metrics.
 
Work Conditions
Work is performed in a remote environment supporting a globally distributed user base.
Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 0730–1730, excluding federal holidays.
Occasional after-hours support may be required for maintenance, deployments, or incident response.
