Job description

Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Construction

Location: Phoenix, AZ | Relocation assistance available

Schedule: Approx. 60% office / 40% field, depending on project needs

Pay: Up to $165K DOE

Scope: HVAC, ductwork, piping, and plumbing

Project Size: Special projects from roughly $100K–$19M, with larger work reaching $70M–$90M total project value

We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects in the Phoenix market. This is a senior-level seat for someone who comes from the mechanical subcontractor side and can own the money, protect the margin, lead the client, and keep the field moving.

This is not a paper-pushing PM role. The right person will own budgets, forecasting, billings, change orders, cost tracking, client communication, and project execution from kickoff through closeout.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead mechanical construction projects from pre-job planning through closeout
  • Own budgets, forecasting, billings, change orders, cost tracking, and financial performance
  • Protect project margin and stay ahead of cost, schedule, and scope issues
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, field teams, vendors, clients, and internal leadership
  • Manage schedules, submittals, buyout, procurement, documentation, and project reporting
  • Visit job sites to review progress, resolve issues, inspect work, and keep projects moving

Project Scope

  • HVAC, ductwork, piping, and plumbing
  • Ground-up, tenant improvement, retrofit, and existing-building work
  • Healthcare, higher education, mission critical, and data center-type environments
  • Manage 1–5 projects depending on size and complexity

What We Need

  • Mechanical subcontractor experience required
  • Strong PM experience with mechanical construction projects
  • Full financial ownership of project budgets and performance
  • Experience with change orders, forecasting, billing, cost tracking, and client communication
  • Ability to partner with superintendents while owning the business side of the project
  • Good tenure; not looking for a pattern of short 1–2 year stops
  • Procore and BIM experience preferred
  • Degree preferred, not required with strong experience
  • Relocation candidates welcome; assistance may be available

Support / Incentives

  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Phone and laptop provided
  • iPad available by request

This is a high-priority search for a proven mechanical PM who can step into a senior role, own the numbers, lead the client, and keep complex mechanical projects moving in the Phoenix market.
