What this job involves
This Relocation Project Manager position is a dynamic role focused on planning and executing workplace relocations of up to 1,000 people while maintaining exceptional client service. You'll serve as the single point of contact for all move management activities, coordinating cross-functional teams including vendors, facilities, IT, and construction partners. The role requires strong project management capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting financial targets and client expectations. You'll develop project plans, manage budgets, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure seamless transitions that minimize disruption to business operations.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing relocations for groups up to 1,000 people, serving as the primary client contact throughout the relocation process and ensuring client satisfaction from initiation through closeout

  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with facility managers, construction teams, and key stakeholders while tracking project hours and forecasting utilization

  • Managing vendor and contractor relationships including the bidding process, preparing RFPs, evaluating proposals, recommending selections, and ensuring compliance with performance standards

  • Coordinating with service providers across IT, construction, furniture installation, and technology teams to determine implementation dates and manage work orders for furniture reconfigurations and space enhancements

  • Maintaining project documentation including setting up files using Best Practices, developing client-specific reporting, performing data input into CAFM systems, ensuring data accuracy, and completing internal and client closeouts

  • Preparing and distributing move communications, creating floor plans and file mapping, providing on-site support during moves, managing post-move help desks, and resolving punch list items to completion

  • Leading project meetings with clients and stakeholders, managing financial targets, processing invoices for timely payment, and ensuring all activities comply with key performance indicators and company policies

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, architecture, facility management, or related field

  • 3-4 years of facility, project, or construction-related experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment

  • Demonstrated experience successfully planning and managing relocations of large groups (500+ people)

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAFM technology with move management modules and facilities management systems

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and enhanced ability to utilize the full Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to interact effectively with executive-level internal and external clients

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification

  • Background in project strategy planning, construction management, or architecture

  • Knowledge of construction and commercial real estate industry practices and terminology

  • Familiarity with architectural drawings, furniture planning concepts, and space planning principles

  • Experience with contract and proposal development including RFP creation and vendor evaluation

  • Understanding of business development principles and ability to contribute to client relationship management and expansion efforts

  • Previous experience leading teams and providing constructive feedback to project team members
