Job description

Job Title: Change or release Management Consultant
Location: Dallas, TX & Atlanta, GA
Duration: 6 Months

Day to Day responsibilities-
•  Develops and manages detailed schedules for change restrictions for applications hosted on platforms such as Java, Node.js, MuleSoft, Azure etc. to ensure minimal service disruptions and defects.  
Lead the Change Control Board meeting to facilitate the approval process for changes, including obtaining necessary authorizations from leadership and ensuring technical alignment with deployment strategies like blue-green & canary  deployments
•  Prepares comprehensive summaries for leadership to enhance decision-making and strategic planning, using data-driven insights using JIRA, confluence & SharePoint.
•  Analyzes and clarifies release scope to ensure alignment with project goals and technical requirements, including understanding feature flag dependencies, product launches, change restriction periods etc.
•  Coordinates approval processes, leveraging technical and operational insights to validate release readiness and deployment strategy.
•  Collaborates with engineering teams to design and maintain robust release metric dashboards, utilizing tools and platforms such as PowerBi, ServiceNow and other internal change control tools.
•  Utilizes data visualization tools to provide real-time insights into release stability and performance metrics, ensuring continuous monitoring and improvement.
•  Works closely with release and product managers to develop and maintain accurate release calendars, incorporating automated scheduling and notification systems.
•  Ensures the integrity and accessibility of release data for team reviews and audits, using cloud storage solutions and version control systems.
•  Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on release scheduling, freeze periods, and performance metrics, with a good understanding of high-level system flow.
•  Provides technical guidance and expertise in these areas to support engineering and operational teams, ensuring best practices and standards are met.
•  Leads the assessment and implementation of industry best practices in change management, including automated deployment strategies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
•  Focuses on process automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention, using tools such as Jenkins, Code Cloud etc.
•  Serves as an advocate for change management, promoting awareness and understanding of deployment processes across the organization, with a focus on technical excellence and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
•   Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
•  3+ years of change and/or release management experience with proven track record of managing all aspects of software releases throughout their lifecycle
•  Experience within high tech, software and/or wireless/telecom industry highly desired
•  Solid technical background with understanding and/or experience in software development, web technologies, release management, metrics dashboards and customer communications such as email, SMS and push notifications.
•  Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert release data into summaries that foster understanding and reduce outages.
•  Experience working within scaled agile development teams.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders.
•  Technical skills include: Atlassian-Jira and Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Lists, Scaled Agile Framework, full stack web design, application design and architecture.
•  PMO certification and/or Project Management background
