Relative Dynamics is developing free-space optical communication internet terminals for high-altitude platforms and Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) spacecraft. Our mission is to enable commercial world-wide internet access.

As a Firmware Engineer, you are part of a cross-functional team developing optical terminal hardware. This position requires a background in digital signal processing (DSP) and communication theory.

What You'll Get to Do:

Responsibilities:

  • Close collaboration with optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers to define free-space optical communication system requirements and solutions.
  • Develop algorithms, code and hardware and firmware for RDI IRAD and SBIR projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience leading or contributing to multiple product development efforts, projects, and initiatives.

What You'll Need:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or computer engineering, or relevant field and/or experience.
  • 5+ years experience working in firmware design.
  • C++, VHDL, Verilog, bare metal expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Communication system experience.
  • Aerospace experience.
