Job description

Whitestone REIT is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will report to the property management department. The qualified candidate will have a great work ethic, with the capability to work under minimal supervision and consistently all projects. This candidate should be high energy and have a keen eye for maintaining and fixing all aspects of the assigned properties. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routing and repair maintenance on multiple properties in Houston and surrounding areas.

Qualified candidate must have a personal vehicle for reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform maintenance on multiple properties in Houston;
  • Make light repairs and adjustments on plumbing systems as needed;
  • Repair interior and exterior finishes and drywall of properties;
  • Repair electrical issues within properties;
  • Simple blub changing
  • Maintain touch-up paint and graffiti removal;
  • Maintain and repair locksmith tasks;
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of properties and vacant spaces;
  • Pressure washing and window cleaning
  • Repair water pumps and fountains;
  • Manage time wisely and productively while working independently;
  • Able to complete tasks from start to finish;
  • Assist other maintenance techs as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. required;
  • Valid driver’s license required;
  • Minimum of two years general maintenance experience in commercial environment required;
  • Minimum of two years of general plumbing and electrical experience required;
  • Ability to do physical requirements such as stooping, climbing, and ability to lift 40 lbs. or more;
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and complete reports, training will be provided; and
  • Ability to work in and around Houston, TX.
