Maintenance Technician – Apartment Industry

Location: Houston, TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: Starting at $18+/hour (Based on Experience)

Now Hiring – Apartment Maintenance Technicians!

Certified Apartment Staffing is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for apartment communities throughout Houston, TX. If you have experience in apartment maintenance and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining apartment homes, completing resident work orders, preparing vacant units for new residents, and ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

Work Orders & General Maintenance

  • Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to keep apartment homes and community amenities in excellent condition.
  • Accurately document completed work orders.

Make Ready & Unit Turns

  • Complete apartment make-readies for new move-ins.
  • Perform inspections, punch-list items, repairs, painting, and final quality checks.
  • Ensure every apartment is move-in ready and meets community standards.

Property Maintenance

  • Maintain the appearance of common areas and grounds.
  • Assist with trash removal, pressure washing, painting, and minor exterior repairs.
  • Help ensure the property remains clean, safe, and attractive for residents and guests.

Inventory & Safety

  • Properly use and maintain maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines and all company safety procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of apartment maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, and general maintenance.
  • EPA Certification preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
