Job description

Union Flats is in need of an experienced Maintenance Tech to join our service team. This person will be expected to respond to maintenance work orders, perform preventative maintenance as directed, and prepare units for move-in. Ideal candidates will work well both with a team and individually. Excellent customer service skills required; some prior experience in residential maintenance is preferred. Must have valid driver's license and vehicle.
Apartment Service Technician
Location: Mechanicsburg, PA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, rotating on call after hours
Starting Hourly Rate: $21/h(based on experience/certs) + Phone allowance
At WPM your job as a Service Technician is to respond to maintenance repair requests, perform preventative maintenance, and prepare units for move-in for new residents. Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Hanging, prepping, and sanding drywall
  • Electrical repairs
  • Upkeep and repair of appliances
  • Plumbing work
  • Painting common areas and apartments
  • Maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety on the property's grounds
  • Assisting with snow removal
  • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage for emergencies

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated plumbing, electrical, or carpentry skills required
  • Must be available on-call for emergencies on evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle and travel required
  • Able to troubleshoot minor electrical problems within various types of fixtures and equipment
  • Required to work on ladders, lift to a height up to 85'

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years' experience in site maintenance required
  • HVAC certifications a plus
