Are you a hands-on professional with a passion for maintaining exceptional properties? Whitestone REIT is seeking a proactive and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Houston Region team. Reporting directly to the Director of Property Management and Maintenance Tech, this role offers independence, variety, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the properties you manage.


As a Maintenance Technician, youโ€™ll take pride in ensuring our properties meet standards of quality and safety. From routine inspections to troubleshooting and repairs, your expertise will keep our properties running smoothly and looking their best. If you're high-energy, detail-oriented, and thrive in a self-directed environment, this is the role for you.


What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and adjustments.
  • Repair interior and exterior finishes, including drywall.
  • Address minor electrical issues, light fixture repairs, and lamp replacements.
  • Conduct touch-up painting and remove graffiti.
  • Execute basic locksmith tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of properties and vacant spaces, including pressure washing and window cleaning.
  • Service and maintain water pumps and fountains.
  • Inspect and monitor fire alarm panels, life safety systems, and HVAC rooftop units.
  • Maintain building roofs, removing debris as needed.
  • Respond promptly to after-hours and weekend emergencies.
  • Efficiently complete assigned work orders and projects from start to finish.


What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of general maintenance experience in a commercial environment,
  • Minimum of two years of general plumbing and electrical experience required;
  • HVAC certification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail,
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs., stoop, climb, and perform other physical tasks.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel across the Houston Metropolitan area.
  • A commitment to maintaining safe work practices and compliance.
