Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting operations and financial reporting functions for our diverse portfolio of entities. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategic financial oversight with day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to support both corporate functions and real estate-specific activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple entities

  • Manage cash flow, escrow accounts, and financial compliance

  • Monitor and track construction costs, tenant billing, and lease-related accounting

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data

  • Collaborate with senior management and department leads to support business decisions

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions as needed

  • Optimize accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy


Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management

  • Strong understanding of general ledger, financial statements, and bank reconciliations

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and escrow tracking

  • Familiarity with real estate transactions and lease accounting

  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage 300 CRE is a plus)

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)

  • CPA certification preferred but not required
