Litigation Associate Attorney
Rochester, New York

 

Insero Talent Solutions is partnering with a highly respected, established law firm in Rochester, New York to recruit a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing litigation practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who is ready to take greater ownership of sophisticated matters while continuing to work alongside and learn from accomplished partners and senior attorneys. The position will focus primarily on general civil and commercial litigation, with opportunities to support marital and family law matters as needed.

The Litigation Associate Attorney will manage matters through various stages of the litigation lifecycle, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. The successful candidate will be a strong advocate and strategic thinker who values client service, collaboration, and high-quality legal work.


Responsibilities:

  • Handle a diverse caseload focused primarily on general civil and commercial litigation matters.
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, correspondence, settlement documents, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and develop effective litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other professionals throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
  • Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex and significant litigation matters.
  • Provide support on marital and family law matters, including legal research, motion practice, discovery, negotiations, and other litigation-related responsibilities.
  • Independently manage assigned matters, competing priorities, deadlines, and client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while providing responsive, high-quality legal service.
  • Participate in firm initiatives, professional development opportunities, and business-development activities.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school, with admission to practice law in New York State.
  • 4+ years of litigation experience, with demonstrated ability to manage cases and responsibilities independently.
  • Proven experience in general civil and/or commercial litigation.
  • Strong understanding of litigation strategy, negotiation, discovery, and courtroom procedure.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, verbal communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative legal team.
